Nolcha Fashion Week kicked off with a spicy solo runway show at 12pm by couture designer, Léka, who wowed the audience with 22 runway looks. The stylistic components had a steady focus on architecture and constructivism. Seduced by angles and curvature, virtually every look had a sassy cinched waist to emphasize Léka’s approaches to craftsmanship. Her strategic use of deep V-neck cuts, bustier infused tops and BOLD shoulder theatrics captivated every audience member.
The electric collection pushed the envelope of sexy chic and sculpted perfection! Playing with leather and lace and toiled in frills and chains, Léka showcased precision. Dowsed in valiant neck-pieces and slayed in edgy tights, her accessories flawlessly complimented her head-turning mosaic of avant-garde deigns.
The 3pm solo runway show featured ready-to-wear designer Katty Xiomara, who previewed her new “Peanuts Played by Katty” collection, which was inspired by the Peanuts characters (Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang). The nostalgia feeling of pleated skirts and tailored collars created a subtle vintage look. The contours were simple but artsy with small details.
Side pony-tails, wooden frames and nylon socks created an emotional sway of her Charlie Brown inspired looks. The style was elegant with a focused color pallet of golden yellow, rustic bronze, and tangerine-tinted red. Her character expressions were sensual and feminine, defined primarily by mixing patterns and textures and throwing in nudes and blacks to the fluid silhouettes. The collection was elegant and refined, with a sarcastically fun attitude.
Nolcha Fashion Week is a “The hot incubator of fashion talent” noted by Forbes. It is by far the one platform where independent aptitude cultivates a space of pure beauty and trendsetting style.
