Their steps echoed against the marble floor, the sound of leather shoes and the soft clanking of Leliana's armour breaking the silence of the of the pool.
"Through here, sweet thing" Isabela said as she motioned towards a large ornate wooden door. It had clearly been painted over many times, but Leliana still noticed the vague markings where what had most likely been Tevinter dragons and other symbols that had been chiseled out when the Imperium had lost control of the city a long time ago. The door groaned open, the sound of wood and hinges filling the air as Isabela pushed it open.
Leliana returned the smile Isabela gave her as she stepped inside. "Oh..."
Few things had managed to take Leliana's breath away. The first time she had entered the Grand Cathedral in Val Royeaus, walking into the stone halls of Orzammar, finding the ashes of Andrasate in that temple. A bathhouse in Kirkwall hardly seemed comparable to those. Yet there she was, mouth open as her eyes took in the sigh in front of her. The light from the oil lamps washed over the mosaics that adorned the walls and roof, the colors coming alive as they moved in tandem with the shapes of the stained glass of the windows as the plumes of steam from the bubbling waters passed through them.
"I trust that you know how to swim"
Leliana's gaze moved from the spectacle of colours and towards Isabela, where the woman was already in the process of removing her boots and the collection of daggers she carried on her.
"I am no stranger to the waters. But I'm sure you'll help should the need arise"
Isabela answered with a wink, and Leliana couldn't help but bit her lip as the pirate started undoing the laces that held the top of her outfit in place. But a sudden sinking feeling reached Leliana as the warmth in her chest that came fort whenever she was around Isabela brought to notice what she had been trying to hide for so long "You do not love her, Leliana. This is but mere fun for the both of us. Do not hurt yourself again"
