Thank you so much for saying so, Lemon! I always feel so bad posting writing posts (which obviously doesn’t stop me, haha!) Because I’m like 1: no one cares and 2: you sound super egotistical right now BUT the truth is I just love having a place to just gush about the things I love and since writing is a thing I love, I like to gush about it! I’ll talk shit about the quality of my writing til the end of days because I hate the end product of literally everything I write, but the process of writing is so magical and important to me??? So it makes me endlessly happy that it doesn’t annoy you! (and I hope it doesn’t annoy most people?)

Anyway, thank you. And it’s not weird at all! Seeing people talk about their passions is my favorite thing (and what’s kept me in journalism this long, tbh). <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 You’re the best!

the peppermint candy is in a non-canon novelization - in fact most speculation on vulcan intoxication is just that, speculation. the most canon we have is t'pol in enterprise when she gets intoxicated by a black forest gateau, however black forest gateau has liquor in it. also, vulcans have a highly efficient metabolisms, which is why alcohol is said not to have any affect on them, so it's arguable that processed sugar (esp in small amounts) would have any affect either,

See that’s the thing! It’s so hard to know what’s ‘correct’ when most of what we know/think we know is based off of novels and/or prominent fan theories! And it’s well-established in canon that alcohol doesn’t have the same effects on Vulcans (which may or may not affect Spock because he’s half-human, but also novels have established that he is also fully Vulcan in anatomy and biology so LIKE???) 

Honestly because it’s all speculation, as you say, it’s probably all ‘correct’ to some degree, but it’s always nice to be as close to the fandom’s estimations/ideas/thoughts/theories as possible. At least I like to be close to it. SO I dunno? I mean, maybe it’s all just a shot in the dark. Hahah!

hey! i'm getting caught up on sha ka ree and i have to point out how you said vulcans are intoxicated by glucose. they're actually intoxicated by sucrose, which is very different. glucose is a naturally occurring sugar in most fruits, vegetables, and breads; but sucrose is more commonly known as table sugar and is found in sweets like cake, chocolate, and ice cream (sorry for the mansplain, i got excited)

as someone who would give anything to read the next chapter, i believe it'd be best for you to wait if you aren't sure you'll be able to finish the other chapters in time. we can wait for another chapter, there's no need for you to put yourself under undue duress because of a want to supply us with more content! we will love u anyways
