The highlight of my day is when a bug flew into my nose
but I didn’t know it did
and I sniffled
and it ended up in the bit between nose and mouth
and I could feel it
just awful

Mother
Warm sky Benevolent and nurturing Giving unto us below small parts of you Drip drip drop They collect and puddle up Beneath your grey cloud woven blanket Harsh winds blow To scold us for our incompetence Stand not in your way Embrace the comfort of your bright blue arms Tip tip tap Parts of you knock on my window Giving way to a mind anew Ideas dreams and wonders Collect in puddles of you Sweet caregiver above As vast as you are I have seen you all A flurry of orange, red, and pink hues The colour you so often wear those hazy blues A dispersed array of purple blue and black A shroud of mystery specked with glimmering gemstones of wonder Ting ting tang You're louder now I'm getting scared Brash flashes sash the sky Lavishly loud and lagging rolls sound about Shaking me now Your cradling motions That once put me to sleep Now toss me like a ragdoll Your voice is loud Your lashings fierce Beating me senseless I miss those calm blue days Where I await patiently to see you dawn a veil of wonder Rather than surround yourself In a torrent of rage Waiting to lash out onto your caring children Understanding supervisor With as calming as you can be You can never quell my fears Of one day never seeing you again You wear a bright glimmering necklace Only to distract from our common concern Peace brought for me now Will never be mine Thank you nature Vast never ending space above For giving me what I had never had to call my own You treat me fairly No different from others You scold punish greet and welcome us all the same Thank you mother sky.
