Dear diary, Today I restarted my terrarium with a bio-active substrate, live plants and isopods! I'm so excited. Maybe I'll add a little land snail down the line too! I had mostly given up on trying again, but petco had a wonderful display and a very knowledgeable manager on staff and I'm optimistic! I also gardened with my mom, we planted the tomatoes, strawberries and the lemon cucumber in containers. We have a very dilapidated raised bed area on the property but I will need to rake out and deweed the gravel patio there, reline the raised bed, and cut back some forest growth... and I don't know if I'll have a free weekend for that before summer growing season is over. So we may not get that going until the cool fall plants need to be sown. We are mostly unpacked finally and we've built all the new furniture and shelving. My office is still a bit cluttered and we need to figure out how to cram a few more books some where, but the situation is very livable and confy. I cannot get over how cramped and unhappy we were at the old place! this place is big enough I often don't hear when I am called! I think we are at the point where we can start hanging up art!!
I'm slowly getting the urge to play games other than Stardew valley...anyday now. I have hooked up my living room tv as a second monitor for my pc so when it happens I'm ready to couch pototato it up! I also finished my first audio book too and I'm gonna try to finish up some half read nonfiction before I tackle another horror piece.
I'm looking forward to getting a second roku for the living room tv and catching up on movies. I also need to make my own crunchy roll account or figure out where I'm going to watch the rest of Witch Hat Atelier. My mom has settled in nicely I think, and she's feeling well enough to be bossy. I am still so surprised by her health improving so much once she moved out here, I thought for sure the stress would make things work. shes communicating and getting around way better than before.
I had a dream that trigun had a bad live action movie adaption in the 90s and I've been thinking about it all day because it had the same aesthetic as the tankgirl movie. But Vash was played by young Cris Evans circa the Losers and he absolutely had the range in my dream but it made me laugh so hard when I woke up. (I am not a cris evans enjoyer this is crucial to the dream's potency) Behold:

I often say "I will bring the ring to Mordor" when I volunteer to something like flex my schedule, or take on a new proj at work. Today my boss was like, "You can take the ring to Mordor" and I frowned and said "You can't voluntell some one take the ring to Mordor..." and he was like "Hmmmm, yes, much to consider," and walked away.
Friends, Mutuals, esteemed followers and late night ao3 readers I come you in my hour of need! As some of you are aware my father passed recently and I am now the sole care taker for my disabled mother. Unfortunately when I spent 2 weeks in Maine to help her plan the funeral I was unable to receive any paid time off from my job and I am now caught in the wonderful catch twenty two of needing to move her out so we can sell her house and needing to sell her house so I can afford to move her out!

I went down to the river to scream and all I got were these vivid prophetic visions from the salmon of knowledge.
All done! Decided to lean into the copper patina look. My original plan was to make it look very green and blue like beetle wings.
