Sometimes this lesson in love can be the hardest one to uphold. It isn’t uncommon for people to misbehave around those who they see everyday. Something about perhaps feeling too comfortable... and perhaps it is too easy to keep track of their wrongs. We loose our patience much more quickly....(the good news is that the same might be true about our strengths and virtues). If you are like most of us, you will unequivocally at some point have a moment of conflict, cross words, and offend someone you actually love. When this happens, don’t be afraid to own it... yes, you are not perfect... neither are they, be accountable for what you did wrong, reflect on it .. and keep note of what was the most important thing you lost sight of in that interaction. Rehearse how you would like to react to a similar situation in the future. In my opinion, most importantly—-don’t let any altercation or conflict separate you from your God. When things go wrong you need his grace the most. Sometimes you will be the good guy and in some the bad guy of any given incident—- pray... no matter what. God understands anger... in fact the best way to dissipate it is by going to him to unload. Never let anger with your neighbor or brother or sister affect your relationship with Him. He can understand it all, and he is the perfect counselor...
