“Is he... okay? I-I mean- is he going to be okay?” Finley asked from a distance while Leo checked him over and checked his temperature.

“Well he doesn’t have a fever so that’s good.... I’ll call the doctor, I guess... you just rest Dom, alright? Don’t worry about school today or anything. Finley, you go get ready” he said with a frown and suspected the wheezing to be asthma but he wasn’t positive

“But... I have a test today” Dominic said before coughing and laying back down with a huff

“Don’t worry about it, alright? I’l sure you can retake it” Leo said while rubbing his arm gently before getting up and scooting Fin off to get ready too

After a long, emotional, semi-boring day of waiting for Ricco to come home, Leo just took Finley down to their bed to watch cartoons and eventually they both fell asleep, at this point Leo had more or less given up hope that Ricco had just went out for a few hours and ‘forgot’ to tell him, and that this was indeed going to be one of his long-haul disappearances. Which hadn’t happened in a couple of years now...

“That....” Ricco sighed and laid down with Finley curled up next to him and Dominic by Leo. “I guess... it’s fine then” he mumbled as he started to doze off, unaware Leo already had; not that that was surprising after a full day of watching two toddlers.

Leo took a minute away to calm himself down and decided to take Ricco’s advice and call his dads to see if they’d be willing to help him since Ricco would be working a double, and of course they said yes and that he should’ve called sooner; meanwhile...

“Get off!” Dominic whined as Finley started using him as a plaything, acting as though he hadn’t gotten in trouble 0.2 seconds ago.

“No! Dominic seat” he giggled before starting to pick on the poor thing

“Hey” Ricco said as he pulled Leo close suddenly and made him look at him “Don’t think like that... okay? Even if he does end up having to move back in with Terra and switch schools... we can always bring Finley over, or vice versa. They won’t lose anything. I’ll make sure of that.”

Leo gasped suddenly and looked up into Ricco’s eyes nervously “I guess that’s true but they’ve been together so long I’m just worried... for both of them, you know? I mean sure they have us but it’s different, and I know it’s different because we’ve been there.”

“You’re right, but we’re going to make sure they don’t lose that connection like we did. No matter what happens.” Ricco assured with a soft smile

“I.... wouldn’t say we lost it though...” Leo said more quietly while a nervous smile made it’s way onto his lips “Just... forgot, for awhile”

“I suppose you’re right again”

“What’d he do?” Leo called from the living room before glancing over his shoulder at the mess “Oh god” he groaned as he walked over and put his hands on his hips “Why?” he asked simply

“.... I.... I..... I don’t... know...” Finley said while looking up at him, unfazed about their anger

“Clean it up and go to your room for the rest of the night.” Leo said in annoyance, completely done with Finley’s rebellious stage now

“Seriously kid, you aren’t three.” Ricco huffed while watching him get the mop and start to clean it up before going to make himself a protein shake

“Stupid parents.... it was just for art.... thought it’d look better...” He muttered to himself “wanted to see if the flour would dry the chocolate....” he huffed
