With Marcel going to his place instead to discuss details about what happened at the wedding and general concerns over his cousins, Abel no longer had to go to the main house. So after a quick call to Leon, he made his way to his cousin’s penthouse instead.
A text could have sufficed, but it was to ensure that Leon’s new girl wasn’t there when they talked. Juliet may have been in their employment for a while, but it didn’t give her the right to be privy to anything, not yet anyway. There was also the case of Mia herself, and Abel knew her well enough that she would want to get involved with the discussion if she was around-- he needed to make sure that Leon was alone. When he was certain, and sporting his new shiner, Abel made his way up.
“Hey,” he greeted, handing over the paper bag to Leon. “Mia lent me those. They’re yours though, right?”
