Character info panels that were at the end of the manga because it’s become clear to me that some people in the fandom haven’t seen these and are spreading misinformation that can easily be debunked with these
Fugo isn’t here because he doesn’t have a character info panel. Sad.
A scene that always piqued my interest was the “boat confession” scene. Not because of the actual confession, but because of the events around it and Bruno’s reaction. Right before the actual scene, Abbacchio says this:
And Bruno’s reaction is clearly hurt, but notice how he doesn’t look betrayed or even shocked that Abbacchio would say this. During the actual confession, however, Bruno’s reaction is this:
Here you can see that he’s actually shocked now. There’s genuine surprise on his face. But he didn’t have this reaction with just Abbacchio, he had it with the others as well.
Before they agreed to follow him, his reaction was this:
But after they agreed, his reaction was this:
With everyone, he seemed more surprised about them choosing to follow him than he does about them choosing to stay with the organization. It’s as if he expected them to go against him in this situation. Not that it isn’t understandable why, it’s been hammered in at this point that traitors will always die, so of course Bruno doesn’t expect them to automatically want to follow. But then the topic of Bruno’s trust issues come in.
We see in the series that he trusts easily. He trusted the mafia when he first joined, he trusted Diavolo again with Trish despite already being used once, and he trusted Giorno after knowing him for two and a half days. He trusted the gang too, but still braced himself for them to leave him on his own. And I think that’s interesting. He puts a lot of trust in those he barely knows, but seems to also have come to terms with the fact that they all could turn their backs on him at any moment. I know I’m looking way too deep into this, but I love thinking about Bruno’s fucked up relationship with trust.
Complication of Bruno yelling at Abbacchio (deserved) and more:
Fun fact: We don’t actually really see them interact much in the series, but their longest scenes together usually turn into them arguing/yelling at each other because, despite what the fandom tries to make you think, they are not mature adults and are hilariously awful at communication (and it’s mostly Abbacchio’s fault)
