Hitoshi Sakimoto- Nalbina Dungeons from Final Fantasy XII honestly this is the worst version. when they remastered this gem of a game they didn't have to touch the music it was fine. the original track had a heavier bass and sounded sharper and grittier. this almost sounds too nice? but it's still a fucking gauntlet slam
Chihayo Fukuda- Prairie Field from .//Hack Mutation this game is almost 20 years old??? and I haven't played it in like 16 years but I still, without fail, whistle this tune and dream of harvesting Mandragoras and Piney Apples. this game is phenomenal and the other games in the series don't compare. The Humus Field is an honorable mention

Skyrim is gonna be 10 years old this year and god this song right here baby. that's the ticket. she *tears up* has given me so much, her mournful English horn solo as you make your character unload 600 Eidar cheese wheels in your house in Whiterun. This song is too good idc if Skyrim is presented as overrated, this song withstands the winds of change

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write - I would say most of the fanfics I wrote in the last year. The majority of them sprung up out of nowhere and took on life of their own. But that's kind of a cop out answer so I am going to say wreck my plans, that's my man. When I originally started writing this fic, it was just a one-shot prequel to another fic I had written in this same universe that I had created. It started as a one-shot, then I quickly realized it was turning into two chapters, then I looked at it and said yeah... this is gonna have to be a multi-chaptered fic. This fic was the flower you plant as a joke because you think you can't take care of it, then you're like oh shit yeah... this is actually turning into something. It's especially shocking because the fic has almost 18,000 hits which is genuinely insane to me.
21. most memorable comment/review - there's a couple of them that i go and reread. I tend to get reminded of the really long and detailed comments. There is something special about writing and knowing what you're trying to say and write and convey, and someone leaves a long comment talking about how much they loved that part, and pulls quotes, and really goes into almost a review as a comment. I want to publish books one day, and comments like those really give me hope that I am capable of a interesting published original work of fiction. Also there was this comment left on my red string of fate dinluke series, called all along there was some invisible string tying you to me, in which someone was like documenting Din and his issues with this gold string attached to his finger in the fic that centered around Din's POV. Everytime I see that comment I chuckle, because it's really summarized the fic better than I ever could!
25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read - oof there's a couple that I really love. the celeb au dinlike is like one of my favorite little series, and i thought they did a great job with characterization and complicated family dynamics.

Okay books, the league of extraordinary women series, SPECIFICALLY Portrait of a Scotsman, it's so much fun i read it in a day. The House on the Cerulean Sea is a comforting hug pressed into pages, I almost cried so many times and did cry at the end!! it's so sweet and full of love and queerness and i just !!! love. Firekeeper's Daughter and the Inheritance of Orquidea Divina are also two amazing stories about women of color (specifically Native Women and Latinx people (Inheritance is more about a family then just women in general). Half Sick of Shadows is a retelling of Arthurian myth and I really loved it, it gets amazing about halfway through and to the end. One Last Stop is one of my favorite romance novels of the year. Currently reading, I am about to start my spooky season reads, which once I get it later today will start with The Ex Hex, then hopefully the Atlas Six, and then the Ninth House and Six of Crows. I keep a thread of books I really like on my twitter, which is here! I also have a book of the month referral for anyone who is interested :) i can send it over through messages or whatever works best.

Obviously, I have been listening to a lot of Evermore songs because it's a great fall album, so specifically evermore ft. bon iver, and a couple of other songs. I've almost exclusively listened to what I call my mommy issues playlist (lmao) recently, which is here. Also the playlist I made for a future fic that while I've been avoiding all the other fics i'm supposed to be writing (*cough* wreck my plans *cough*) which is here! Yeah it's been a weird couple of weeks but I am pushing through ;)
