Before she knew it, it had been six months since Gabrielle was born and now– her maternity leave was officially ending. Being a first-time mother when she least expected it, even if she was a grown woman, was a learning experience. Luckily, Gabrielle made it easier by being the best baby ever. And– Leo made it better by being himself. Their journey over the past few years had drastically changed and she wouldn’t have it any other way. She was always an early riser since most of her life she had to get up and go to work to keep a roof over her head. While she used to hate mornings, now, she looked forward to them. It was her time to bond with her baby over the sun rise creeping into their household. The clock marked 5am on the dot and she heard the familiar cooing coming through the monitor. She rolled out of his embrace, going to pick up a giggling Gabi out of her crib and quietly leaving Leo to rest as she began the routine of a new day.
“Did you sleep good, pumpkin?” She asked quietly, placing a kiss against Gabi’s head as she let out a baby yawn. “Maybe I should just call out and hang out with you all day,” Adeline whispered to the baby as she cradled her by the window watching the bright light burst over the horizon. The sound of growing footsteps gathering her attention and she smiled at the sight of him up so early. “Look who’s awake, Gabi!” She mused, grinning as she watched how excited their baby got seeing her father.
