for ideas or anything to work off of, perhaps akito has been practicing the same song all day, even when the others decided to stop for the night. so they try to distract akito or throw him off by tickling him while he tries to sing so he finally takes it easy with them. “i shout far away a-AHAHAHAS?! w-whahahat thehe hehehell!?” akito began to sing before four hands on his sides interrupted him. toya and an’s hands, matter of fact.

“you’ve been practicing for way too long. it’s time to end it for tonight,” toya answered his unspoken question, prodding his finger in between his sensitive ribs. akito tried to resist against the smile that tried to appear on his face, but it ended up in a crooked smile instead.

“yeah~ we get you wanna sing perfectly, but we’ve got time!“ an added, and kohane nodded and giggled in agreement. she wasn’t tickling akito, opting to stay out of it this time, which akito was internally grateful for. toya and an were not showing him any mercy.

he tried to respond but any protests he had died on his throat when an slid her hands underneath his armpits, scribbling.

“stahahahap, you g-guhuhuhuys!” akito giggled, a blush blossoming on his face. toya, instead of stopping, began to knead his fingers into the divots of akito’s hips, squeezing every bit of skin that he could find in an embarrassingly effective manner.

“if we stop, you’ll go right back to singing until you lose your voice,” toya sighs as akito closed his eyes, somewhat in shame but also in embarrassment. they knew him too well, didn’t they?

“nohoho, i wohouldn’t!” akito still tried, weakly. an clicked her tongue.

“that sounded like a lie,” she said, then looked to toya and kohane, who seemed to be in agreement. she turned back to akito, her smile turning devious, meaning nothing good was going to come to him. “but that’s okay. i think we can change your mind.”

“nohohohoho!” akito laughed, only praying that the worst of it had already passed. (it didn’t.)

On occasion, Rui had a tendency to overestimate his own abilities. He'd never admit it of course, but it was a trait glaringly obvious to anyone who knew him. There was no doubt in the fact that he had incredible ability, dedication, and aptitude, but sometimes he could get in... a little over his own head. 

Be it the next great invention, the most daring new show, or the most thrilling stunt idea, Rui considered himself quite the creative visionary. He would do anything in his power to see a good idea come to fruition, as any worthwhile director should.

But now as he had quite literally been backed into a corner by Mizuki and An, with Minori and Saki eagerly awaiting on the floor close by, he found that just maybe people had a point when they said he could get overambitious. 

"Hey! Don't run away!" An chided with a smirk. "You agreed, remember? You lost. And the loser has to get tickled~" 

She had a point. Rui had, in fact, agreed. The five had participated in numerous games and sport events, tallying up individual wins and losses as they went. Rui’s fate had been sealed from the beginning when he so confidently suggested the punishment and then, despite his best effort, proceeded to fail miserably at just about every game. 

“Unless someone is too ticklish to take his own punishment.” Mizuki wiggled their nails at Rui, who squirmed and grew tense. “In which case this is going to be a looooong tickling for you~” 

Rui saw his only opportunity for escape. As Mizuki raised their arms to tease him, they freed up a small gap between themself and An. It was undoubtedly a desperate attempt and he wasn't even sure if he'd fit, but Rui had no other option. He took a deep breath and steeled himself before all but diving through the opening, knocking An to the side. 

Miraculously, it worked. He escaped. And while he may not be the best at games, out of the five, he was by far the fastest runner from the great advantage of his long legs and experience in evasion on foot. He grinned smugly as he ran towards the door. He couldn't believe it. He had a straight shot out of this mess. He was done, he was free, nothing could stop him now. 

That was until he took a particularly long stride, lost his balance, and went tumbling to the ground right next to Minori and Saki.

“Oh my gosh are you okay?!” Saki exclaimed, immediately jumping up and hurrying to Rui’s side, Minori close in tow. 

Mizuki let out a surprised yelp, and with An right behind, joined the two next to Rui. 

Maybe it was adrenaline, maybe it was his superior physical ability, (it was definitely the former) but Rui found he didn't feel any pain at all from the fall. The more pressing concern to him was the fact that he was now face down on the floor, well and completely surrounded by four people who, not a minute prior, wanted nothing more than to tickle him silly. 

“Rui?” An asked tentatively. “You good? Do you need anything? I think we have a first aid kit around here somewhere.” She glanced around the room for it but hesitated when Rui laid a hand atop hers in reassurance.

“No, no I'm okay. Don't worry about me, any of you. I feel just fine.” Rui assured, bending his arms and rolling his wrists to demonstrate. “Now if you’ll excuse me.” He began to clamber to his feet but didn’t even make it to his knees before being unceremoniously, yet still carefully, tackled back to the floor. 

“Not so fast!” Mizuki said. “We still need to make absolutely sure you're okay.” Those who knew them, which Rui did very well, could have picked up on the slight ingenuity and teasing lilt in their voice. Rui’s heart dropped at their next words as he realized exactly what was going on.

They adjusted him to lay his back on the floor and placed his legs so that they hung across their lap. “Yeah your arms seem fine but how about your legs? Can you move them?” They traced a steady finger back and forth across Rui’s calves, a silent warning of what was to come. “We might just need to check them to make sure.”

Rui began to let out a steady stream of panicked giggles. “Y-hes! Yes they can move just fine! Look!” He kicked out his legs to the best of his very limited ability. He sent a pleading glance to Mizuki to have even the slightest bit of mercy on him. “See! I’m okay! I can get up.”

“Well then, if they’re so healthy and strong-” An cut in, catching on to where Mizuki was going. “Then you won’t mind if we do this-” She fluttered her hand under his other knee, Mizuki giving her an encouraging look from her place across from her. 

Rui squeaked and shook his head rapidly, clamping his lips together. 

“Oh, you don’t mind? Perfect! Thank you!” An sent an insolent, flashy grin his way and continued her work on his knees. “Hey you two,” She nodded to acknowledge Minori and Saki. “We’ve got his legs covered, but do you think you could check his upper body and make sure he’s okay there too?” 

Saki smirked deviously and sat next to his head. “Yup! I’ve heard necks and armpits need to be checked especially well.” 

“Noho they don’t! They’re fine! I’m fine! Everything is fine!” 

“Perfect!” An said with a wide grin. “If you’re so fine, that means we can carry on with your punishment. You had us all so worried there for a second! I’m glad you’re feeling good enough for some tickles.”

The inventor tried to wiggle back and forth as a pitiful last ditch effort, but was promptly stopped by a restraining, but exceedingly gentle hand pushing on his abdomen. 

Minori spoke with a hint of nervousness in her tone, keeping her hand planted just above his navel and looking deeply into his eyes. “Are you sure this is okay? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

Rui immediately flushed red. As much as he liked to pretend he was dreading his so-called “punishment”, maybe, just maybe, he had suggested it for a reason. He knew Minori was caring and selfless almost to a fault, meaning that if he said he wanted it to stop, she’d immediately oblige and call the others off with her. 

“W-well,” He stuttered. “Rules are rules, and I did agree to them. You’ve earned it.”

“Oooo, Minori, you got Rui so flustered he cares about rules now. Well done!” Mizuki reached over to her and enthusiastically offered a high five, which after a few failed attempts was returned with gusto. “Hey, you might wanna remember this, hall monitor~” She winked at An. 

Nobody missed the way Rui’s shoulders tensed at the teases, finally resigned to his fate. Four distinct coos rang throughout the room as an anticipatory grin overtook his features. 

“Aww,” Saki leaned down and blew a gentle breath across his ear. “Nervous? There's nothing to be scared of, you know.” She, without further ado, began to flutter her hands at his neck.

Already worked up from the teasing, there was no way Rui could even try to hold back the scrunching of his neck and the squeal that followed. 

Rui would consider himself well versed in the area of chain reactions, often being the cause of many himself. As a result, it was not much of a shock to the inventor that when Saki touched his neck and thus caused his incredibly dignified squeal, it served as a trigger to provoke the others too to descend their hands on their own assigned spots.

The key difference, however, between Rui’s invented chain reactions and the one he currently found himself involved in was that in the former, he liked to cause chemical explosions. In the latter, he himself was the very source of the explosion of laughter that left him at the sudden onslaught. 

The worst part of it all, he decided, was the complete inability to move. He was completely immobilized under four quick pairs of hands. Any attempt to kick his legs was met with a hand holding them in place and somehow even more intense scribbles at his knees and calves. If he tried to twist his body, he would be stopped by a pair of hands grabbing his sides to keep them still and squeezing them over and over. If he tried to push back or do really anything with his hands, his armpits would suddenly have an intruding hand very intent on visiting every inch of the skin. 

He cackled and writhed but with the small semblance of his mind he still had left, all he could feel was fondness for his friends. The friends who spent their day in playful competition with him. The friends so eager to give him his retribution but more so eager to rush to his side when they thought he might be hurt. The friends carefully analyzing every twitch and stir of his body language to ensure he was still comfortable.

Mizuki had always been the one who could break Rui out of his shell. It was as true in middle school as it was now. They knew exactly where and what he was sensitive to, well practiced from many days spent in playful arguments, both too prideful and stubborn to back down even when arguments devolved into fits of giggles turned cackles. She poked and pinched and scratched all over his leg until he physically couldn’t hold back even the smallest snicker anymore. Her muscle memory served her well as Rui fell further and further into his descent of joyful madness. Were Rui more aware of his surroundings, he may have heard smug words about just how weak he was to a few tiny tickles. Mizuki cared by knowing him. 

Minori looked a little shy, cautious, which was reflected in her tentative tickling too, Rui noted. Her fingers fluttered and danced delicately across his stomach, but never prodded or squeezed. She wasn’t rough or hard, merely light and coltish. She didn’t truly want to “punish” him, lacking the competitive streak the others shared but she more than made up for it with her surplus of determination to make him smile and laugh. Laugh he did as her touch caused the smallest giggles, a comforting contrast compared to the havoc of the other three. She cared for him by being soft with him.

Saki was giving it her all with a dazzling grin splitting her face. Her tickling was spontaneous but still carried an air of precision. His neck was subjected to a swarm of tickling fingers in a seemingly random pattern, but as it went on, Rui noticed Saki beginning to target the spots that made him squeal the loudest and scrunch in on himself the most. She seemed to be trying her hardest to get him to make the funniest reactions she could. Embarrassing, yes, but Rui couldn’t deny the soft warmth in his chest he felt at the realization that the entirety of her efforts were dedicated to making him as happy and as pleasantly overwhelmed as possible. Saki cared by being attentive and giving Rui exactly what he wanted. 

An was nothing if not energetic. Her good nature and enthusiastic attitude were infectious. Out of anyone there, she believed the most strongly in the concept that because Rui lost, that means he has to take his punishment. That did not, however, mean she wasn’t just as kind as everyone else. It was still vital to her that her squeezes vibrating deep into the muscles remained fun for everyone involved, especially Rui and she knew just how much fun he was having. How could she not with the pure mirth on Rui’s face? At one point, she had discovered a delightful little technique where she’d rapidly wiggle her fingers, suddenly pulling away and waiting anywhere from three to ten seconds before returning and repeating the process. This left Rui completely devoid of the ability to guess when her tickling would leave or return and making it hard to relax. An cared by keeping Rui lively and having fun. 

The four all had wildly different techniques and intentions but the one similarity between all of them was the same genuine smile adorning their faces and the love blossoming in their hearts, running through to their fingers just for Rui. He was so irrefutably cared for and Rui wasn’t sure whether that or the tickling was making him more giddy. 

Minori had taken to drawing shapes on his stomach, likely in an attempt to show a little sympathy. A star here, a heart there, a triangle somewhere in between. Simple, calming gestures. Rui was thankful for the slight reprieve. He liked trying to guess in his dazed state what the next shape would become. A simple game really but largely entertaining to both parties nonetheless.

Rui’s breaths were heavy and labored as he laughed himself what felt like half to death. He hardly noticed Saki’s gentle concerned voice telling the other three to begin to slow down and only realized what was going on when the mischievous hands on his body began to gradually slow little by little until they came to a complete halt.

“Wh-why d-did you stop?” Rui gasped out, cheeks beyond rosy and looking slightly disappointed. Beads of what may have either been sweat or tears of pure laughter ran down his flushed face. Despite what his raddled appearance may have suggested, he already missed the feeling of uncontrollable laughter. The constant stream of residual giggles still pouring from his lips was nothing compared to what he had just experienced. 

“You’re exhausted, Rui.” Mizuki giggled fondly. “You need a break.” She rubbed firmly across his leg, giving it the occasional reassuring squeeze. 

“Bu-” He barely managed to protest before his lips were met with Saki’s finger in a shushing motion.

“Nope! You, mister, are taking a break! We could get some snacks and all sit around and hang out together.” She pipped. “We care about you and we’re going to make sure you’re taken care of.” 

“Yeah, it’s important to cool down after exercise like that!” Minori added cheerfully.

An spared a final scribble to his kneecap before getting up and stretching her legs out. “You have as much fun as we did?” She smiled at his tired form still on the floor. 

“Mhmmm” Rui hummed, the fatigue quickly catching up to him as the energy and rush of emotions faded.

His confirmation of what they all already knew to be true granted every face in the room a smile soft with adoration for their worn out friend. 

They really did care about him. Maybe he should let himself lose more often.

You sat at your desk in disbelief, looking down at the graded test the teacher had just handed back. A red F, you couldn't believe it. You had studied so hard for this too! You slumped down in your seat all mopey, this of course caught An's attention.

"Hey, everything alright?".

"No... I got an F...!" you whispered out sheepishly.

"So? I don't get that many good grades, and look at me!"

"You're not helping...".

"Haha sorry..." An stared at you with a sad smile, figuring out how to cheer you up. That's when she got an idea. She looked over at Mizuki, who had decided to actually show up to class today. They sat beside you on the opposite side. Once An caught their attention, they looked at her with a curious gaze.

"Hmm?".

An quietly pointed over at you, who was currently burrying their face against their desk. She then gave Mizuki a knowing look, once they caught onto An's plan, they both gave off a playful smirk.

"Hey, Y/n?".

"Mmm...?" you didn't bother bringing your head back up.

"Are you gonna stay hiding down there?" Mizuki asked with a slight chuckle, although they were genuinly concerned for your wellbeing and wanted to make you feel better, just like An.

You gave a nod at their question, causing the other two to giggle at you.

"Haha! You're so precious~" An teased, grinning victoriously when she caught the back of your neck heating up. "Well if you're gonna stay down there, guess there's only one way to get you back out~".

Your heart dropped at the tease, your face heating up even more as you could practically feel your body tingling in anticipation. You didn't dare say anything, just kept your head stubbornly hidden.

"Hehe, such a stubborn cutie~" Mizuki joined in, their finger poking their way to your ribs.

"Eep—!" an involuntary squeak escaped your lips, the touch causing you to jump in your seat. This made them giggle in amusement.

"Aww, are you still oh so ticklish?~" An's finger found it's way to your leg, giving your kneecap a loving squeeze.

"GYAH!" that was enough to make you sit back up straight, your cherry cheeks and wobbly smile revealed for them to look at.

"That's much better! Just look at that pretty face~" An's nails kept lightly gliding along your knee, occassionnally scribbling under it's soft flesh.

"NOHOHOA! AHAHAN PLEHEHEASE!" you slapped both hands over your mouth, trying so desperate to hide the embarrassing sounds that kept spilling out of you.

"Heyyy, no hiding from this~" Mizuki teased from the other side, their nails now playfully wiggling under your arm. Causing your arms to instantly come crashing down.

"GYAHAHAHA!" there was nothing else you could do besides throw your head back in pure, unrestrained laughter. Your wide smile and flushed cheeks revealed in all their glory.

"So, are you gonna stop being all mopey, or do you need more tickles?~" An asked teasingly, slowing down the knee tickles to some light tracing. Mizuki's nails also slowed down to give you more room to breathe and hopefully talk.

"Ahahaha... I-I'm gohohood...!" you tittered out, even the light tickles was enough to keep you all giggly and happy.

"You sure? You seem to like this~" An teased with a final squeeze to your knee. That only made your cheeks blush an even deeper color. "Haha! Alright fine, but don't think this is over yet~" An warned with a playful smile and a mischevious twinkle in her eye. Oh god... who knows what she'll do next. But atleast you had a reliable cheer up squad to count on.

Akito shoved open the door to the Weekend Garage and made an immediate beeline to his usual spot at a table in the corner, away from most of the other patrons. He threw himself into the booth, set his backpack onto the floor, moved close to the wall, and put his head in his arms on the table with a loud huff. Unusually unaccompanied by Toya, who had volunteered to stay after school for library duty, insisting Akito go ahead without him, he was alone at the table to wallow in his own personal pool of irritation. And with both Toya and Kohane at school activities, and An at work (if you could call bouncing around the cafe making idle chatter with customers “work”), the executive decision had been made to push Vivid Bad Squad’s practice back an hour that day, meaning Akito was well and truly undistracted from the situation he had put himself in. 

That was until a certain ombre haired waitress, likely with little intention to actually serve him, approached the table.

“Hey Akito! What’s going on? You seem upset about something,” An asked, cheerful as ever, but not without an air of genuine concern. 

Without even looking up, Akito wordlessly reached into his bag, yanked out a piece of paper as if it had personally shoved him to the ground and spat on him, and put it face up where the number circled in bright red pen was clearly visible to her.

Upon seeing the torn and crumpled test flipped onto the table, An, ever sympathetic and merciful in all things Akito, laughed right into his face, her previous concern melting away in an instant. 

“Ohoh my god Akito, not even I did that bad. Seriously. What even happened?” She slid herself into the booth next to him, making it clear she had no plans of leaving anytime soon. 

His face went slightly red in embarrassed frustration. “I don't know! Stop laughing at me, you jerk. I don’t even know why you care so much about how I did on some damn test.” Akito lifted his head only to cross his arms and slump his shoulders, sparing a sharp glare for the girl at his side. 

"I'm just saying you get the grade you study for," An smiled teasingly. “Assuming you did any studying.”

Akito only sighed. Why in the world did he decide to talk to her of all people? She was just as bad as he was about grades, he just happened to get unlucky this time. "Yeah, and you're one to talk. How about you pick up a book yourself, you hypocrite." He mumbled bitterly. 

An gasped, still not letting up on the mocking. "That's a big word, Akito! I'm surprised you know what it means. Toya teach it to you?" That infuriating grin was still spread wide across her face, her eyes sparkling with mischief. 

“If you’re here just to be an ass, leave me alone,” Akito snapped. He put his head back down with an audible thump. 

Her face softened slightly, sensing she was putting salt into something of an open wound. “Alright, alright. I’ll give it a rest for now. But only because someone,” She gave a firm poke to his side to accentuate her words. “Can’t take a little teasing.” 

Suddenly, he jolted up straight and made a strangled sort of squeak at the action, a reaction unexpected from both of them. Akito’s eyes widened as he realized what had just happened. The electric shock sent though his body made it hard not to let the sides of his lips quirk into a small smile. It was truly a wonder he could still maintain his annoyed scowl.

She looked confused, as if Akito had presented her with one of the problems on the pitiful test still sitting in front of them. “Wait. What in the world was that?” She asked, before poking the spot again.

This time, the smile was not so easily kept at bay. Additionally, to the horror and mortification of the boy in question, a small, breathy giggle came with it. He was frozen in an odd combination of nervousness and chagrin. 

In contrast, An looked like a little kid on Christmas morning at the new discovery. “Akito~?”

“Shut the hell up right now.”

“Are you ticklish?” Her grin split her face. They both knew the question was pointless: An already knew the answer.

“I said shut up!” He flushed and noticed immediately that he had no viable escape. He was trapped in the booth with his attacker blocking the only possible exit. Moving closer to the wall would only leave him less room, moving towards An was an obvious no, and there was no way he’d fit if he tried to duck under the low table. 

Shit. There was no way out of this, especially given An’s expression of pure glee and determination. 

“Ohh, but I think you’re gonna shut up first.” She smirked and used both hands to continue to poke, now with intention, right into his side. 

“Pft-! Ha! An-!” With every poke, Akito breathed out a noise halfway between a squawk and a snort. He couldn’t help but make an attempt to escape the touch and wiggled backwards until he felt his back press against the cool wall. 

An followed him effortlessly, poking and prodding at his side and cooing at the odd sounds he was making. “Is someone a little too ticklish? Hm? Can someone not sit still and take his tickles?” 

“Na, not -shihit!- not fuhuhcking ticklish!” He clearly was trying to sound threatening and aggressive, but wholeheartedly failed as giggles overtook his words and shook his shoulders.

“I don’t know. You seem pretty ticklish to me. Maybe it’s just your sides that ‘aren’t ticklish’?” An drew out her words with a high pitched lilt that drove Akito all the way up the wall and back. She knew full well what she was doing to him. His rosy cheeks and ears, though turned away from her, were still visible enough to provide a plethora of evidence of just how bad this got to him. Her poking traveled up to his ribs, carefully placed between the bones. 

Squeaks and soft squeals joined the assorted symphony that was Akito’s poorly stifled laughter. He didn’t even bother talking again, for if he did, he knew any hopes of getting a grip on himself would be fleeting faster than they already were. God, was she seriously trying to kill him? Every touch pushed him further past the point of return and closer to giddy helplessness. At this rate, he didn’t know if the embarrassment or the effort of holding back would kill him first. 

The pokes were maddening, even through the protective layers of his shirt and jacket. It was impossible to tell where he’d next feel the intense sensation. Sometimes An would even poke and let it linger a little longer with a slight wiggle of the offending digit, just to see Akito’s shocked expression. 

“Yep!” An said with a particularly severe wiggle. “Definitely ticklish! Why’d you never say anything? I don’t know why you’d feel the need to hide something so adorable, Akito-!” Her words seemed sweet and complementary on the surface, but he could see right through her ruse to the agonizingly patronizing intention behind it. 

“Dahamnihit! EE! Yohou’re so fuhucking embarrassing!” He squeezed his eyes shut and tried his best to ignore the teasing and keep up his tough persona, no matter how shattered it already was. His body, however, had different plans as it betrayed him with every jerk, sound, and smile he made at the gentle touch.

An giggled at the outburst, further erupting Akito’s face into flames. “Well maybe you’re too easily embarrassed. It's just a little tickling. This is just exposure therapy.” 

“Wahait! NahAHA!” His volume suddenly spiked in response to another one of An’s wiggles to his ribs.

She stopped for only a moment to figure out what she had done, eerily similar to the way Akito’s torment had gotten started in the first place. She moved her finger experimentally around in an attempt to recreate the reaction. She went back and forth across the area that had triggered it, following the natural curve of the ribcage. 

To Akito, this was somehow worse than the actual tickling. Knowing she was wandering around as he was helpless to stop her. Stubborn as An could be, she wouldn’t stop until she had her answer. She was just being so… delicate right now. Why couldn’t she get back to tickling him already? Wait. No. No. No. He was not going to start thinking thoughts like that. 

She mumbled mostly to herself (and if it made Akito just a bit more flustered, that was for him and him only to know), “What was it? Wait. Maybe.” Her wiggling changed again, now going up and down his ribs and falling gently into the small divots between them like a cloth to a washboard. 

“EHEHA! AHAN!” Akito shook his head back and forth, barely putting a dent into the wave of ticklishness he was feeling. 

Bingo.

Abandoning the poking, An opted to lightly scratch up and down Akito’s ribs, delighting in the giggles and deep laughter that it caused. He was clearly now unable to even attempt to hold back his smile as his laughter came more freely. Realistically, it was because of exhaustion wearing down at his defenses, but An, optimistic to a fault, hoped it was because he was becoming more comfortable. “You know, I think you might be the most ticklish person I've ever met. You're really losing it, huh?” 

“Nahahah! Nahat trhuhue!” Were he thinking more clearly, even Akito would have realized just how stupid that phrase was for someone in his position. 

An gasped in mock offense as a devious smile came forward. “I think it is true though,” She made quick work of using her hand to weave and worm a passage under the bottom of Akito’s numerous layers of jacket and sweatshirt, completely obliterating any sense of defense he had. “If you’re that ticklish over all this fabric, imagine how bad it’ll be when I get your bare skin~” 

“Plehease!” Akito’s eyes widened in giddy panic and his mouth spilled nervous giggles. 

He felt the careful sensation of An’s hand brushing past on its way up to his ribs, but stopped in its tracks the moment it grazed his tummy, making Akito jerk forwards, then back again. The soft hand then, straying from what was clearly the original plan, gave an experimental flutter along the toned belly it had just discovered. 

The result was instantaneous. He cackled and doubled over, attempting to dislodge the hand or at least, for the love of God, make it firmer. The tiny tickles sent goosebumps through his whole body, and as much as he hated it, seemed to make him grow in sensitivity, which was the absolute last thing he needed right now. “FuhuCK YouhoHOU!”

Ignoring the insult, and clearly pleased with the result, An kept up a steady flutter of her fingertips all over his abdomen. It was a horribly conflicting feeling for her victim. He wanted to squirm and fight it, he wanted to sit still and enjoy it. He wanted her to be rougher, he wanted her to be more gentle, still. He wanted to yell and swear and scream, he wanted to beg her for more. He wanted her back at his ribs, he wanted her to stay where she was forever. He wanted to never talk about this again, he wanted this every day. He just wanted more, more, more in the most difficult way possible.

“Did I find someone’s little tickle spot? I think I diiid~” The fluttering gradually switched to five fingers grabbing and squeezing the spot with vigor, resulting in a major spike in the pitch of laughter. The other hand formed a similar claw shape and joined its counterpart under Akito’s hoodie, but instead of assisting with the attack on the tummy, went up to claw up and down at his ribs. 

It was safe to say that what little of his mind he had left, was yanked away by the sudden onslaught. He doubled over and nothing but the occasional insult or swear was comprehensible through his peals of laughter. He was shaking and red faced like he had never been in his life, pushing weakly at An’s hands, and now completely sapped of energy to do anything else but laugh. 

At long last, An had decided he had had enough, retracted her hands, and moved away from him slightly to let him gasp for air. He sat an embarrassingly long time, doing nothing but giggling and panting. “Ahhah- Ahn you asshole. Whaht’s wrong with yohouh?” 

“Don’t give me that when you know full well you loved it.” She poked his nose. “As many words and complaints you had, you never told me to stop even once.” 

Akito groaned and placed his head back on the table, where it had laid before his teammate decided today was the day he died. 

The welcome bell over the door rang and two familiar figures entered, both with a school bag slung over their shoulders. 

“What happened here?” Toya asked, walking towards the table, tailed closely by Kohane. He took one look at the exhausted, flushed form on the table and felt as if he had missed something important. “Is he okay?” 

“Tell him and you’re next, Shiraishi,” Akito warned sternly, leaving no doubt as to whether he meant it. 

An could only giggle at the tired threat and ruffle the sweaty, orange lump of hair next to her. She turned to speak to Toya. “Yeah, he’s okay, don’t worry. Though he may be a little out of commission for practice today.” Ignoring the grumbled protest at her words, she slid out of the booth, letting Toya take her place next to his partner.

For now at least, Akito’s adorable sensitivity would remain a secret, even in spite of the many, many, many, more tickle attacks that were sure to come.

When Akito is tickled, he swears like a 12 year old boy who just learned the word "fuck" and I stand by that.

a/n: it’s a certain someone’s birthday so i wrote a fic in honor of such a glorious day! @ticklerants i know we haven’t been friends for long but it’s been nice for the few weeks we’ve been talking! hope u enjoy this UwU <3 also this is shorter than usual but i haven’t written a fic in a really long time so my skills are a little.. rusty. for that same reason, characters may be slightly ooc as well 😭

Kohane loved performing. Truly, she did, but she couldn’t help the nervousness that washed over her every time she went to the stage.

Vivid Bad Squad was given the opportunity to perform at a popular social event. Naturally, they had agreed. They would never turn down at opportunity to spread their music around for others to hear and enjoy.

Today was in front of a bigger crowd, so it made sense why she was more nervous than usual today. She felt jittery and shaky, and An had taken notice of it.

“What’s wrong?” An asked, concern adorned on her face. Kohane felt guilty for worrying her girlfriend like this.

“No, it’s nothing..! I’m sorry for worrying you, An. I’m just a little nervous!” She assured her, but it didn’t stop her racing heart. They still had about ten minutes to go before they were meant to appear in front of the audience and perform and it felt like every second made her breathe just a little heavier from the nerves.

“Don’t worry! It’ll be fine, just do it like you’ve always done!” An reassured her, pinching her side. Neither of them expected the squeak that left the smaller’s body. Suddenly, An wore a mischievous grin that couldn’t mean anything but trouble. For a moment, Kohane forgot all about the performance as she gulped. Though, she didn’t move from her spot. “Hey, Kohane~”

“Y-yes, An?” She muttered, shyly, eyeing the blue haired’s wiggling fingers with anticipation.

“I think I know a way to ease some of your nerves..” She smiled, and before giving Kohane a chance to respond, she grabbed her sides, kneading the plump flesh. Kohane didn’t bother hiding her laughter; She knew her girlfriend adored the sound of her laughter and she loved to make An happy.

“A-ahahaha- Ahahan! Ihihit t-tihihihickles!” Kohane giggled, sweetly, absolutely melting An’s heart.

“You’re so ticklish, it’s adorable!” An gushed, moving to her ribs, poking and prodding in between the bones.

“E-ehehehehe, s-stohohohop sahahaying t-thahahat!” Kohane blushed.

“Why, you’re so cute! You’re like a little hamster.” An laughed with her, getting closer to her. Kohane’s knees gave out, and they both dropped to the floor.

“An!” Kohane giggled, moving to cover her face. How embarrassing..! She was way too ticklish for this and An was the one to see it!

“Tickle, tickle~” A teased, putting Kohane in some sort of hug, scribbling her back. That sparked a reaction.

“A-ahAHAHAHAHA! N-nohohoho!” Kohane cried, squirming intensely. She had been enjoying this but she didn’t know how much longer she could take. She squinted her eyes, looking at her girlfriend. An was clearly loving this if the gleaming smile on her face meant anything. “H-hehehehe.. An! W-why?!”

“What do you mean, why? So that I can make you feel better! Isn’t that what girlfriends are supposed to do?” An snickered, as if that was the dumbest question in the world.

“Y-yehehehes, buhuhuhut..!” Kohane sputtered, her smile beginning to ache from laughing so much. Tears began to accumulate in her eyes.

“But nothing! It’s working, isn’t it?” An smiled, lightly kissing Kohane’s neck before blowing a raspberry. She relished in the squeal she received in response.

“N-nohohoho MOHOhore! Ahahaahan!” Kohane shouted, and just like she thought, An had stopped immediately. Instead, she began to rub the areas she had been tickling comfortingly, as Kohane fought to catch her breathe.

“Hehe, you’re so cute, Kohane.” An said, pulling her into her lap. She kissed Kohane’s cheek, then her forehead, and then, finally pecked her on the lips. Kohane giggled in response.

“That tickles!” She smiled, though she leaned into her girlfriend anyway.

“So?” An began, moving Kohane’s shoulders back to look at her face. Kohane averted her eyes under her gaze. “Do you feel better?”

Kohane had almost forgotten the reason An started tickling her in the first place! She pondered to herself for a moment before she smiled.

“Well, I’m still a little nervous but I’m feeling much better.. Thank you, An!” She blushed as she made contact with the other. An chuckled.

“I’m happy to hear that!” An stood up, holding out her hand for Kohane to grab. Moments later, Akito came up from behind them.

“Guys, it’s our turn.” He said before walking away. Likely to Toya. Kohane and An followed behind him, holding each other’s hand.

“Ready?” An asked, and Kohane nodded.

“Ready!” Kohane exclaimed, more excited than ever. They were gonna rock this performance!

Ah, the first major flaw with my newly discovered color system: blue hair and pronouns. I definitely differed from the intended interpretation of the prompt but I've decided that I do not care.

The music was blaring through the TV, both girls furiously trying to gain the upper hand as they moved and spun to the rhythm of the song. They were neck and neck, knuckles white as they gripped the controllers with everything they had.

The scores flashed across the top of the screen, a visual indication showing both the girl’s own score and what they were trying their hardest to beat. 

Suddenly the dance intensified, movements becoming quicker and more intricate as the beat pounded throughout the whole room. While one side of the screen stayed the same at its “perfect”s and “supers”, the other dropped quickly to “good”, “okay” and at its worst “X”. Just like that, the song ended.

“HARUKA!” An shouted good-naturedly, playfully frustrated at her friend’s victory. 

Haruka couldn't help stifling a small chuckle at her friend’s reaction. “It’s not my fault you're bad at Just Dance,” 

“I am not bad! We were pretty much tied until that part at the end!” An countered, “How in the world did you even keep up with that?” An grabbed a couple of water bottles off of the end table and sat on the ground, breathing heavily, and motioned for Haruka to join her.

Haruka gratefully accepted the water, taking a thoughtful drink. “Well I wouldn't say it's a ‘keeping up’ thing. You were matching the movement pretty well with your body and I know for a fact it's not a stamina issue, that's never been a problem for you. I think the difference comes from the different dance styles we’re used to.” 

“Oh?” An tilted her head, curious. 

“Well the kind of dance I do, with my idol work and all, needs to be exact and calculated. Each movement has to be precise for consistency’s sake. You, with your street style, are allowed more freedom to just feel the music and show that through your body. Over time, we've both developed these different abilities. While this is a strength in your performances, in Just Dance, your score is calculated by the exact movement of the controller, not by your dancing as a whole.” Haruka rambled slightly but An found she didn't mind. They hadn't gotten to talk and hang out like this for a while and An had missed her rambles. 

“So you're saying you're too uptight?” An teased with a small snicker. 

“No. I'm saying you're not uptight enough.” Haruka rolled her eyes affectionately. “If I was the problem, you wouldn't have lost.” 

“Oh that's it.” An’s face formed a confident smirk, one that Haruka knew could only mean trouble. Suddenly, the idol was pinned to the ground with her companion snuggly seated on her waist.

Haruka’s face grew red at her vulnerable position. “An.. w-what are you doing?” She asked, flustered and clueless.

“Remember that thing I always used to do to you when we were kids? When you needed to relax or be knocked down a peg?” An delighted as Haruka’s face morphed from confusion to giddy nervousness as she realized where this was going.

She burst into nervous giggles at her predicament. “Wahahit- An!” She moved her hands not to defend herself, but to grab at An’s wrists, not even trying to push them away. She had always enjoyed An’s silly affection. 

“You’re laughing already and I haven't even touched you.” An let some giggles of her own slip at the adorable girl beneath her. “It's okay though, you won't have to wait much longer” She immediately started squeezing rapidly up and down her sides, sending the latter into hysterical giggles.

“Heheheheh An- pleahehese!” She tried her hardest to fight her own squirming, using all of her strength just to stay still and take it. She gripped An’s wrists tighter in an effort to lessen the ticklish feeling on her sides. 

“Please what?” An said with a smirk, speeding up her squeezes. “Please tickle you? Tickle you in all of your most ticklish spots? Because I will gladly do that for you.”

Haruka could only squeal and continue to laugh herself silly at An’s teasing threats. She didn’t feel the need to hide or cover her flushed face. She rarely got to let loose like this in the presence of another person, always prying eyes or cameras following her everywhere she went. She was grateful she didn’t have to be anyone but herself with An. There was no need to pretend she didn’t love this. 

That was until An stuck her hands under her shirt and began playfully scribbling at Haruka's bare belly. 

Haruka screeched and quickly fell into a fit of uncontrolled screams and laughter so unlike her usually carefully manufactured titters at the sudden touch to her most ticklish spot. Her hands sprang to muffle the loud noises from her mouth, trying and wholeheartedly failing to fool An that it wasn’t as bad as it really was. 

An only laughed at Haruka’s reactions “Oh myhy gosh- Are you still that ticklish here? You may have even gotten worse than from when we were kids. I’ll have to do this more often.”

Haruka was growing weak and that combined with the rough tickles, made it harder to hold back her squirming. She wiggled back and forth as her body instinctively tried to find an escape from her ticklish torment. “AHAHAHAHA AHAHN-”

To Haruka’s dismay, An noticed the sudden change in movement. Where she had at one point not been using any effort at all to keep Haruka in her grasp, she was now struggling just to keep her hands on the vulnerable tummy in front of her. “Have you seriously been trying to make yourself stay still this whole time? You don’t have to do that. I don’t ever get to hear you laugh like this! I’m not going to stop just because of a little wiggling. Consider this what you get for beating me at Just Dance.” 

“SOHOHO YOU ADAHMIHIT YOHOU LOHOST?” Haruka taunted. 

“You just don’t know when to stop, do you?” An pulled back her hands and gently lifted Haruka’s shirt just enough to reveal her tummy, still shaking with her loud laughter. She leaned down close and filled her lungs with as much air as she could muster. “Bold words for someone with such a ticklish tummy-”

The raspberry An blew right on top of her belly button left Haruka in stitches and brought mirthful tears to her eyes. The ticklish vibrations danced across the area for what seemed like forever as An used the entirety of her well trained lung capacity to keep her in absolute hysterics. 

When she inevitably ran out of air though, she lifted her head to look Haruka in the eyes. Flushed and giddy, Haruka made eye contact for a second as her dazzling, infectious laughter began to affect An as well. “Okahay- I thihink that’s enough. You’ve learned your lesson, right?” 

“Yehehes, I suhuhpose I hahave-” Haruka, with the help of An, sat up and leaned her back against the couch. 

“Here you go, this should help you get a bit of strength back,” An passed the giggly mess on her floor the remainder of her water bottle and began to firmly rub the sensitive area in an attempt to rid Haruka of the ghost tickles raging through her tummy. "Deep breaths, okay?"

“Thahahnk yohou,” Haruka said, greedily downing half the bottle at once. “Not just for the water, but for… all of that.” She looked away from An, embarrassment beginning to set in. 

“No problem! It’s nice to know I can still destroy you in tickle fights if I need a quick win. Just keep that in mind next time you’re getting cocky, okay? I know all your tickle spots and I will not hesitate to use them,” An ruffled Haruka’s now messy frizzy hair. 

“Oohoh, I’m the cocky one?” Haruka challenged, “You want to bet on that? I hahappen to remember you have some pretty bad spots too. One finger under your arms would have you squealing and thrashing.” She wiggled her fingers at An for dramatic effect, smirking a bit as she scrambled away from her. 

“Y-you wouldn’t, you’re still too tired!” Despite her confident words, her tone and body told a different story as she shot the blue eyed girl a nervous look.

“Would I though?” Haruka smirked at An as the latter desperately tried to gauge her intentions. “I have very good endurance. And by the way, you look a bit stiff, I think it would help if you weren’t so.. uptight.” 

It would be a major understatement to claim what resulted was the tickle fight of the century. It was, more accurately, nothing less than a tickle war; the victor of which only time would tell.
