Words: 2,719 Pairing: Ler!Roxanne, Lee!Reader, and a little Lee!Vanessa Warnings: Alcohol!!! Prompt: ...Alcohol lol
The Pizzaplex looked so different without the noise. No kids screaming in the arcade, no whir of machines stacked shoulder to shoulder, no show lights bouncing off every shiny surface. It was silent, broken by the occasional hum of the neon signs that were too stubborn to power down. It felt like a school after hours, or like a typically busy city street without any people. Uncanny to the max.
Dropping your lockpicking kit, you slipped through the side entrance, heart hammering. It wasn't your first time breaking into somewhere you shouldn't be, but the Mega Pizzaplex had a way of making you feel small, like the walls themselves were watching. Every shadow felt alive. But curiosity outweighed common sense tonight.
The staff-only hallways smelled faintly of bleach and grease, and as you crept deeper, you noticed a half-open door with fluorescent light spilling out. Inside, the room was a mess: crumpled pizza boxes stacked against one wall, chairs pulled at awkward angles around a stained table, and a corkboard cluttered with the shift schedules and half-erased notes. Definitely a breakroom.
And that's when you saw it: peeking out from beneath the table was a cardboard box, dusty, but clearly not trash. You crouched down and tugged it into the open. Your eyes widened. Bottles. Several of them. Glass gleamed under the harsh light, filled with amber and gold liquid. The labels were fancy: whiskey, vodka, and... a bottle of brandy.
"Wait a second," you whispered. "Alcohol? In a kids' pizza place?"
It made no sense. Employees weren't supposed to have this stuff anywhere near the Pizzaplex. Your experience at a daycare as a teen taught you that, at least. The longer you stared, the more convinced you became that this had to be Vanessa's stash. Who else would sneak something like this in?
You reached out and turned the brandy bottle in your hands, marveling at how out of place it looked next to half-eaten pizza crusts and staff keycards, like a stash of cocaine in a McDonald's Play Place.
Then, you heard the creak. The door.
You froze.
The sound of heavy, deliberate footsteps filled the hallway. Your blood turned to ice. Before you could shove the box back under the table, the door swung wider, and glowing yellow eyes sliced through the dim light.
Roxanne Wolf.
She stepped inside, claws clicking against the tiled floor, hair shining silver under the fluorescent buzz. Her ears twitched as her gaze locked on you.
"Well, well," she growled, voice dripping with smug confidence. "What do we have here? Some little intruder poking around where they don't belong?"
You scrambled back, clutching the bottle like it was some kind of shield. "I- uh- I wasn't-!"
Her tail flicked, sharp and restless. She looked like she enjoyed this part of the job. "Breaking and entering, huh? You've got guts, I'll give you that. But I'm the best, so you're not getting out of here without me tearing you apart."
Your mouth moved faster than your brain. "Wait- it's not me! Look!" You pointed at the open box. "This stuff, it's alcohol. I thought employees weren't allowed to have it here."
Her brows furrowed. "Alcohol?" She bent down, snatched the brandy out of your hands, and turned it over. She muttered, almost to herself, "Employees aren't allowed to drink... on the job..." Her voice trailed off, confused, as though the very idea didn't compute.
You dared to breathe again as she popped the cap off with a claw and sniffed. Her nose wrinkled immediately.
"Ugh. Smells weird," Roxy muttered. Then, without hesitation, the animatronic raised it to her mouth.
"W-wait, what are you doing?!" you blurted.
She tilted her head back and took a swig. The amber liquid glinted in the light before sliding down her throat. Roxy blinked hard, coughed once, then let out a small hiccup.
You stared. "Did you just drink that?"
She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. "Dunno what got into me. Besides, there's no rule that the animatronics can't drink on the job," she said, her words a little looser, rounder than before. "Guess I was... curious what it tasted like. And to see if it was really alcohol."
She put the bottle back up to her lips and chugged the rest of the brandy. "Damn..." Her ears drooped for a moment, then perked back up as she set the bottle down onto the table with a thud. "Anywayss... I'd better..." Another hiccup. "...figure out a way to punishhh you."
The way she said it should've been terrifying. Usually, the thought of Roxy delivering that "punishment" would've had you bolting for the door. But instead of deadly precision, she swayed slightly on her feet, ears twitching in uneven rhythm, tail flicking without coordination.
"Punishh... yeah," she mumbled, then giggled at her own thought. "That's what I'm supposed to do, right? Punish intruders. Gotta... punish them good."
You pressed your back against the wall, nerves rattling. "Hey, hey, maybe we don't have to do the whole punishment thing. We could just... talk?"
She tilted her head, blinking slowly. "Talk? That's... silly."
But then she laughed. A full, warm laugh that echoed strangely in the small breakroom. Her voice carried less bite and more mischief.
"Y'knoohohohow what? You're kinda fuuhuhunny," she said, leaning forward with her hands on her knees like you'd just cracked the best joke ever. She reached out and ruffled your hair. "Sneakin' in here, finding this stuff... and then tattling about it to me. You're, like... hic... my new best friend."
You blinked. "Best friend?"
"Yeahhh." She staggered closer, grinning wide enough to show her sharp teeth, though somehow it didn't feel threatening anymore. "I like you. Youhu make me laugh."
Your pulse was still racing, but now for a completely different reason. The towering animatronic wolf, usually sharp, smug, and terrifying, was standing less like a predator and more like someone trying to keep their balance at a party.
"See," she continued, slurring faintly, "I'm the best at everything. I'm the fastest, the coolest, the prettiest... hic... and now, I'm the best at drinking, too." She wobbled and giggled again. "Pretty sure that's how it works."
You tried not to laugh, because laughing might encourage her. "I don't think that's how it works."
She pointed at you, nearly toppling over. "Don't sass me, best friend. Or I'll..." She paused, eyes unfocusing for a moment before snapping back. "...I'll punish you. Yeah. Punish."
The word hung in the air. Roxy swayed again, but this time her grin sharpened just a touch. Mischief sparkled in those eyes.
And that's when it hit you: whatever "punishment" she was about to deliver, it wasn't going to be the kind you'd initially feared. Before you could even process what manner of punishment it might be, Roxy lunged.
You yelped and pressed your back against the wall, expecting claws, but instead... her hands darted right for your sides. Fingers wiggled in rapid little bursts against your ribs.
A startled laugh ripped out of you before you could stop it. "Wha-HAhaHAHAH!! H-hOhOhold Ohohon- WhHahahaat ahAHhare yoUHUHu-!!"
Roxy's grin widened, her fangs gleaming, but the menace was gone. She looked delighted, like a dog discovering a new favorite toy. "Ooohhh, this works~? You're soooo sensitive~!"
Her claws weren't sharp against you. She was being careful somehow, but the sensation was unbearable. You twisted and kicked, trying to wriggle out of her grip, but she was far too strong.
"C'mon, best friend~," she teased, voice hiccuping with drunken giggles. "You broke the rules~! Naughty intruders get tickled until they beg~!"
"IhiHI- IhIHI'm bEhehEhegging AlreHEHehady!!" you wheezed through laughter, squirming wildly. "JuhUhUst StoHOHop!!"
She only laughed harder. "Nahhh, not good enough. You gotta sound really sorry. Like this: 'I'm so sorry, Queen Roxy, you're the best!'" You shook your head frantically, laughing too hard to form words. That just made her grin grow sharper. She leaned close, her breath warm against your ear. "Say. It."
You kicked again, managing to slip sideways. For a split second, you thought you'd gotten free.
But then something brushed across your neck. That tail.
You shrieked and dropped right back into uncontrollable laughter. The fur was softer than you expected, brushing in light, maddening strokes against the side of your throat.
"Ohhh, jackpot!" she cackled. "I knew my tail was good for more than just lookin' amazing."
Between her hands squeezing at your sides and her tail trailing at your neck, you could barely breathe from laughing. Your knees buckled, and for a terrifying second, you thought you'd collapse right there.
Then instinct kicked in. You twisted one last time with every bit of energy you had, slipped under Roxy's arm, and bolted for the hallway.
"Heyyyy! Get back here!" Her voice echoed behind you, half-command and half-laugh.
You sprinted through the staff hallway, sneakers slapping the tile. Your lungs burned, but the adrenaline kept you moving.
Roxy's footsteps weren't steady. They staggered, with the occasional skid of claws against the floor, but she was fast. Even tipsy, she was still Roxanne Wolf. "You can't escape meeee~!" she sing-songed. "I'm the best! I'm the fastest! Hic! And I always win ~!"
You glanced over your shoulder just in time to see her bounding after you, ears perked, tail streaming like a banner as she gave chase on all fours. She stumbled on the corner of a rug, giggled, and then pushed off the wall with both hands to keep going.
"Oh, superstarrrr~!" she called, voice teasing and affectionate at once, "You look soooo funny when you run~!"
Your heart pounded. You ducked into the arcade, weaving between machines. Bright neon from standby screens lit your path, casting the whole room in a strange glow.
Roxy burst in right after you, arms wide. "Where ya going, bestie~? C'monnnn, don't make me chase too hard. I'll catch you anyway~!"
You ducked around a claw machine, but she vaulted it in one smooth leap... before landing clumsily and giggling again.
When you tried to zigzag through the dance floor, she lunged from the side and managed to swipe her fingers against your side in passing. The tickle jolted you into laughter mid-run.
"Gotcha~!" she crowed, staggering but clearly pleased with herself. "Ooooh, I like this game~! You run, I tickle~! You laugh, I win~! I'm sooo good at it~! Here comes the tickle wolf, bestie~!!"
You gasped, trying to form words between breathless laughs. "P-plehehease, Rohohoxy, seheheriously!! StohOhohop!!"
She slowed, but called out, "Not a chance~!"
She lunged again, and this time her tail lashed out first. It curled around your arm like a teasing whip, brushing against your skin. You yanked free and bolted again, but your laughter was giving you away! You couldn't stay quiet, not with every accidental brush making you squeal.
You wove through the Pizzaplex, her drunken boasts echoing in every hallway. "S-Stay baahack, youhu... tihihipsy tincan!!"
"I'm Roxanne Wolf!" she declared proudly. "The prettiest, the fastest, the funniest... and now... hic... the tickliest~!!"
You nearly collapsed laughing when she clipped you in the hip and delivered a few quick squeezes to your side before you managed to slip out of her reach again.
She cackled. "Ahahawwww~!! You look so pathetic, squirming like that~!! Don't worry, best friend... I'll make sure your punishment is reeeal thorough~!!"
You stumbled into another corridor, legs trembling from both exhaustion and laughter. There was no doubt now: Roxy wasn't going to stop. Not until she caught you for good. What's worse: you recognized that this hallway ended in a dead end, with only one room open.
By the time you reached the security booth, your legs were jelly. You staggered inside, slammed the door behind you, and leaned against the console, lungs burning.
For a moment, silence. Your chest rose and fell as you tried to catch your breath. Maybe... just maybe... you'd lost her.
Then the door burst open.
Roxanne Wolf filled the frame, eyes glowing and grin wider than ever. "Aaaaaand... caught you~!"
Before you could react, she pounced.
Her weight knocked you flat against the booth's carpet, and in an instant, her hands were at your sides again. Fingers danced and claws wiggled without ever scratching, pulling sharp, uncontrollable laughter from you.
"NoHoHohoHO plEHEhehHEHASE!!!" You writhed, kicking helplessly, but her knees pinned you down good.
She giggled right along with you, tail swishing. "Ohhh, you sound soooo cute when you beg~!! But punishment time isn't over yet! The great Roxanne Wolf always follows through!" Her tail flicked forward and dragged across your neck, forcing you into louder shrieks of laughter. She cooed like she was proud of herself. "Ahahaww!! Look at you squirm~!! You're sooo pathetic... Pathetic but adorableee~!!"
Every time you gasped for air, she gave you a few seconds of reprieve, only to swoop back in with more tickles. Her "mercy" was just enough to keep you conscious of how thoroughly she was just toying with you.
At one point, she even pressed her snout against your cheek and whispered, "Maybe if you admit I'm the best, I'll think about stopping~!"
"IhiHIHI AADMIHIhIT IHiHiHIT!!" you howled. "YoUHuHu'Re THehHEHE BEheheHESt, oKahHAY?? ThehEHE BEHEHEHEHST!!!"
"Awwwh!! Thank you, bestie, you're so sweet!!" She smirked, diving right back into your ribs.
You could barely breathe from laughing, body twisting uselessly beneath her grip. She was relentless, but her tone had shifted entirely... less "punisher," more "friend teasing a buddy." It was affectionate, in its own bizarre way.
The door slammed again.
"What the HELL is going on in here?!"
Through teary, laughter-blurred eyes, you spotted Vanessa storming into the room. Her face was crimson with fury, eyes snapping to you first and then to Roxy.
"You-!" she barked, pointing straight at you. "You're not supposed to be here! You little-"
But Roxy suddenly froze. She turned her head toward Vanessa, ears twitching. Then, slowly, her grin widened. "Vanesssaaaa~," she drawled, dragging out the syllables. "You're not supposed to have alcohol at work~!"
Vanessa's face went pale. "W-what? I- No! Who told you that?!"
Roxy leaned closer, her tail twitching mischievously. "My best friend found your stash~! And now... it's time for your punishment~!"
Before Vanessa could back away, Roxy launched off you and straight at her. The security guard shrieked as Roxy pinned her arms, wiggling her claws right into Vanessa's underarms.
"H-HehEHEY!! NO!!! D-DoOhohon't youhuhu DAHAHRE-!! hahAHHAHAA!!!" Vanessa's stern voice collapsed into squeals of laughter as Roxy attacked without mercy.
"Bad guardie~!" Roxy teased gleefully. "Breaking the rules, drinking on the job... Naughty, naughty~! Now you get tickles, too~!"
Vanessa kicked and thrashed, her headset tumbling to the floor. "STAAHHAAHAPPP!! ROhOhOHOXY, ThiHIhIS IhIhIHISn'T FuHuHuNNy!!!"
"It's super funny!" Roxy corrected, tail curling up to brush under Vanessa's chin. "See~? You're laughing~!! Isn't it soooo funny how ticklish you are~?"
The sight of the furious, typically composed security guard reduced to a writhing, giggling mess was surreal. And it was also your cue.
While Roxy was distracted with her new victim, you scrambled up, your whole body still buzzing with leftover laughter. Your chest ached, but adrenaline gave you one last push.
Vanessa's shouts of protest and bursts of hysterical laughter filled the booth as you crept toward the door. You sure as hell didn't want to be in her shoes right now. It would be hours before the Pizzaplex opened... For just how long would Roxy continue her punishment? Well, better her than you.
You slipped out quietly, heart pounding, then broke into a run down the hallway.
By the time you reached the nearest exit, the sound of Vanessa's laughter still echoed faintly behind you, muffled by the walls of the Pizzaplex. You pushed the door open, stumbled into the night air, and leaned against the cold brick outside, gulping in fresh breaths.
"Never again," you told yourself, wiping tears still clinging to your face from laughter. "Never snoop in there ever again."
But even as you walked away, exhausted and shaky, you couldn't help but grin at the memory of Roxanne's slurred, playful voice declaring you her "best friend." Had those bottles not been there, you probably would have died in there. You grinned at the thought, that Vanessa had unintentionally saved your ass.
Yeah. That was one punishment you wouldn't forget anytime soon.
