i think the most annoying part of the mitsuki is abusive fanon is that fans have no issue pretending that midnight isn’t a pedophile (since it’s for... “”comedy””) or that bakugou stabbing izuku in the head with his costume pieces isnt slapstick but suddenly when you get the common (and annoying but whatever) “mom thwapping child” slapstick gag NOW it’s taken seriously

in all fairness towards horikoshi i suspect a lot of bakugou’s writing is due to his editors breathing down his neck about This Extremely Marketable Character especially since bakugou was never intended to be as... “important”... as he is now (and now that horikoshi has finally hit the point where he’s sort of clearly writing what he wants to write his narratives are FAR from flawless and i have thoughts/feelings/opinions but i think it’s funny bakugou hasn’t shown up in ages except for like. a single issue overture towards his faux importance before everyone forgot about him again)

honestly ive been thinking that editorial is a lot to blame for bnha not workin for me in the long term since i first saw horikoshi’s character drafts for izuku, bakugo and ochako like wayyyy back before deku vs bakugo part 2 happened
like i still think those beta character designs were much more capable to carry the main themes that we thought bnha would get into by chapter 100 the way the versions we got were meant to
but thats kinda my problem too like im already over bnha ngl cuz i got sooo tired of reading the manga for the story it had the “potential” to be instead of the story it was...
like bakugo not being relevant to the later plots at all is so... hilarious to me cuz he’s barely relevant to the early ones either except an obstacle that couldve been anyone n much better written for it, so if anything its just like lmfao so that really WAS a waste of time exactly as i was thinking this whole time

for someone who leans so heavily into the Composed Refined Inquisitive Justice-Focused Detective Prince facade, the hundreds of candids floating around the twittersphere of him biking around the city or grabbing a bite to eat at a food stand or him tersely talking on the phone with shido an unknown someone or him talking to some random shujin student in shibuya station are not his Favorite thing in the world. his twitter account is practically dormant because whenever he tweets he either gets weird replies to his tweets or his absolutely flooded with mentions from the stans and the politically savvy users fighting over his connection to shido and corruption within the police department and his stance on the phantom thieves
when the shido connection gets BIG and even the goro stans are like “wait actually this shido guy is actually kinda concerning our king isnt really involved with him is he?” akechi is remarkably talented at redirecting interview questions to safer topics. he’ll be hounded about the phantom thieves and take a huge public opinion hit because he’s toughened his stance to change the reason his name is in the headlines over touching the shido thing with a ten foot pole ANY day of the fucking week
unrelated to the above point but yknow how the thieves stans and the goro stans would go at each other on the phan-site? it’s literal warfare on thieves and akechi stan twitter. theres actual bloodlust between the two. god this small insignificant part of the culture around the phantom thieves is so fun to think about
I really want Atlus to pull a persona 2 and have one set canon name right from the beginning. I still think obvi that you as the player should be able to change it, but i also think there should be one name and it should be stuck to. I really don’t care for the name debate. Whenever p6 comes out I want one name that’s just a catch all. It can still be the -protagonist- most officially but at least have one singular consistent name please.

Yeah, pretty much lol. Kasumi/Sumire’s dad works at the TV station. I remember watching that scene at the cafe and finding it funny that he was far more focused on makin’ Ren sweat than in like. Actually communicating with another human being besides Ren. Boy’s got tunnel vision.
