Okay, but imagine this though.
The seagulls are chirping and the beaches are empty because it’s nearly autumn and no one wants to go to the beach when it’s nippy, but that’s when Roy likes it best. He likes going to the beaches on his day off at the diner he works at down the street from his new apartment.
A slight breeze starts picking up and its blowing his hair along with it--slightly overgrown, but still manageable in that hair style that makes him look so deliciously handsome. He’s okay in his red t-shirt, but his khaki chinos are rolled up to his ankles to keep the sand away from them, but it’s literally no use if he ends up sitting on the ground with no blanket anyway.
In his hands are a sketchbook and some charcoal. The page is blank, but he has that itch to draw something--a portrait, a landscape, maybe a drawstring on a bow because he’s doing that nervous tick of rubbing his fingers together.
So he closes his eyes, willing himself to draw the first thing that comes to his mind.
It’s Thea, head slightly down and leaning, curls all over her head, and a soft smile on her face. He realizes he’s drawing the first time she met him at that coffee shop with one of her old friends.
He doesn’t stop and finishes the charcoal sketch right then and there. And then he vows that one of these days, maybe in the foreseeable future, that he’ll give this to her in person.
And then he packs up because he realizes he’s gotta go grocery shopping so once he leaves the corner market and back to his apartment, the door he knows he left closed and locked is open.
So he squares his jaw, puts down the groceries on the table near the doorway (HE ACTUALLY HAS A FOYER NOW HOW COOL IS THAT) and calls out to the intruder that he knows is there.
And Thea walks into his line of vision and goes “Hey.”
He drops whatever thing in his hand he wants to use as a weapon in shock, stays stationary for about two more seconds, and then they both rush together for that one passionate kiss up against the wall in his doorway and just....ugh.
