My first time to watch a musical, live. And it’s not just a musical, it is Les Miserables, my favorite. Sooo, let me share to you how these happened.
April 07, 2015, Thursday
Monthsary. During office hours he texted me saying, “Date tayo bukas. Bawal OT.” Haha! I really like it when he texts me like that, so much kilig.
On our way home he told me that I can wear anything fancy. I asked him why, because normally, I go to the office with my jeans and shirt. He even told me that I can wear a dress! Telling me to wear a dress is a big deal, yes. My man is, hmmm, conservative (like my Dad). But, if he doesn’t like what I’m wearing (because of course I’m going to wear it to the office) I need to bring an extra pair of jeans and shirt for me to change. So adorable. Haha!
I was so excited that night. I was thinking about all the possible romantic dinner places until I dozed off.
April 8, 2016, Friday
I prepared my brown pants, a flowery chiffon sleeveless top, and a blazer, as my ‘fancy’ attire for today. In my surprise, he went up to fetch me, I mean to show me what he’s wearing. Haha! He was wearing a black slacks, a black long sleeves and black shoes (haha! all black!)
Him: You’re wearing that? I’ve given you a chance to wear a dress, but you choose that?
Me: Is it required to wear a dress? I still have my tan line.
Him: That’s okay. No one will notice it. Go grab one dress and wear a t-shirt instead. Don’t forget your leggings.
Sooo, I grabbed a dress, a white leggings and my inner dress. I went to the office still wondering where are we going to have dinner. Because it is Friday, it’s traffic, of course. I enjoyed the sunset in the car (oh! I love sunsets so much and sunrises too.) I thought we are going to Mall of Asia, but he just drive until we end up in Solaire. Then I saw posters of Les Miserables. I got sad because I know that we are only having dinner in Solaire. I changed in the car, I even cut my leggings because it is longer than my dress. Haha! I decided to bring my instax and wallet with me (no handbag or anything because I’m not prepared. sad). We went to FInestra, the lady asked him if we have a reservation, he answered we don’t have, so she asked us to sit while we wait. After a couple of minutes she came back and asked us if we are going to watch Les Miserables. He looked at the lady, looked me, and back to the lady, then answered, YES. I wanted to shout. I am so excited. I am so happy. Haha! I hit him. I am so teary-eyed. And, I’m laughing. Many emotions for that moment. He handed me the brown envelope and when I opened it, our ticket! Yay! I am the happiest person in the whole universe. Hahaha!
For our dinner, he ordered Lamb Chops (with roasted artichokes, Tuscan potatoes and Barolo wine jus) and Maccheronccini Al Ragu Di Carne (Hand cut prime beef in tomato sauce with pecorino cheese). That was my first every fancy dinner. Expensive, yes, but very delicious.Yum! We will be back! Haha!
After our very expensive dinner, we proceed to THE THEATER. I can’t wait for the musical to start. He was not feeling well that night so I told him to have some rest first before the play starts. When the musical starts, I am crying. I have goose bumps all over my body. He was sleeping that time. Haha! He’s not really a fan of musicals, so I just let him rest. We are lucky to have Miss Rachelle Ann Go as our Fantine.
Les Miserables will always be my favorite musical. After the musical, he wanted to buy something for me. I told him, all the pictures I have is enough. So I asked anyone beside me to take a picture of us. I am so happy that I forgot the word “shy”. Haha!
We had a walked around Solaire again to find another place to have a picture. And then again, I asked a lady to have our picture taken. Good thing that every person I asked was kind. Haha! On our way home, we both want to have some coffee. So we stopped at our favorite coffee shop branch (Starbucks across Yellowcab in Roxas Blvd.) and ordered our favorite drink, coffee jelly frappe. Haha! He is lactose intolerant so you know what happens next. Hahaha!
I am so happy and so in love that night. You can’t always find someone who’ll watch a musical with you even if he is not really a fan of it. He told me that seeing me happy is what makes him happy. He is always excited to see my reaction whenever he has a surprise. This man is the sweetest person in the universe. Thank you, Marion. Thank you for coming into my life. :“>
