When my trainer told me I was riding her big, green, sensitive mare I was like “oh I should have strayed in bed today.” Nothing like putting me on a horse well above my level to make me feel incompetent! But... while the lesson started rough, it ended well and I had fun riding such a cool horse. Miss Lily is a very lovely ride despite her reputation for being a, um, firecracker (not exactly the word my trainer uses....). But not falling off or otherwise failing miserably was a nice confidence boost. Keep the bar low and you will reach hights well above your goals 👍

Styles was great in his lesson! The pad did fine except it left dry spots behind his shoulders. Ugh. So ig we’ll try more stuff or finally buy a new western saddle 😢

Plus! Hutch was really falling in on his right shoulder and popping out his left so I worked on bending a lil with him (while Renée told me it was all going to be undone with the next kid who gets on him lmao) and by the end he got it!! Even though it’s really hard for him bc he’s built like a truck

just got back from my last lesson until musical is over and I am so dead my thighs and my calves and my abs are all jello

Renée made me do a lot of no stirrup work including walk to canter transitions (which Hutch was NOT happy abt) and it felt like they sucked but she said they looked good so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
