I’ve been obsessed with Serge Gainsbourg since the very first time I heard him. And, like James Brown, he had side projects and collaborations that were just as compelling as his own work. France Gall is one of these, and one of my favorites. I’ve written about her before, centering on the scandal of “Les Sucettes”. But it’s her sweet voice and swinging tunes that really shine.
