Letting Go

I stood high on a towering cliff.

I looked down at the sea before me.

It was a rich dark blue,

teaming with life.

I looked at it in awe of its beauty.

My face lit up with excitement,

As it had everyday for the last year.

I looked around for a way to get down,

As I had everyday for the last year.

The cliff upon which I stood,

Extended endlessly to my right and left.

I took a breath,

And closed my eyes.

Today, I take the chance.

And I jumped into the vast beautiful sea.
