TASK 02: FEARS

Everyone has them: those monsters that hide under the bed, those visions that terrorize dreams each night. The residents of Lethe are no exception. For this task, we would like to know what haunts your character. Whether it be psychological, physical, or an unexplainable phobia, tell us the fears themselves as well as the finer details. Some questions to help you find a starting point.

How did these fears come to be?

How do they impact your character’s daily life?

In a stretch of the imagination, divulge what you could see happening with these fears in the future. What could possibly make them worse?

Even if it is in a worst case scenario, what plots could you see originating from these fears?

This may take the form of just a headcanon post, a drabble, or even a thread idea. As always, please tag your posts with lethe: task two and feel free to link them in the new tasks channel in the discord.

TASK 01: MUSIC

To paraphrase the renowned author Victor Hugo, music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. Some of us write with music to best guide our words and stir our brains into motion, some of us use it to relax, but we want to hear what music expresses that which cannot be said by your characters, what songs embody the heart and soul of the complex people that you play here. Be it via Spotify or whatever playlist making service suits your fancy, show us a playlist just for them!

Go for the heart. And Anastasiya Sokolova had done just that as she slipped a silver dagger into the princess’ abdomen. She might as well have stabbed him in doing so, bringing about pain, fear and rage in ways he hadn’t known before.

He had already lost one half of him, he wasn’t ready to lose the only person that made this remaining half still be worth something.

So he fought and he lost.

Trimalleolar fracture. The fae didn’t even know what that meant when the doctors spoke about that, all he knew was that his ankle had been shattered to pieces. ‘Hit where it hurts the most’ Anastasiya Sokolova had said after snapping his bone leaving him without the capacity to keep fighting her, without the oportunity to avenge what she’d done to Katia. And what good was a warrior that couldn’t fight?

It was shameful how that woman had rendered him completely useless in a second. All his skill, all his loyalty reduced to nothing.

They had performed surgery on his ankle earlier in the morning and now that the sedatives he’d been given had started to leave his system, Marek had finally slipped out of the idiotic state he’d been after waking up. While he appreciated being able to form coherent thoughts again, the lack of sedatives also meant he began experience some discomfort on his recently operated ankle. He’d been instructed to press a button to summon a nurse so he did just that. “Excuse me, how is Katia Kjar? Is she alright?” he asked as the nurse as she handled his medications. The painkillers were contained inside a syringe that she injected into the transparent veins that linked to his arm. The nurse refused to disclose any information since he wasn’t related to the patient he was asking about.

“Please, I need to know if she’s alright” he insisted, desperation and concern seeping through his voice. All his plea got was an impersonal ‘Sorry, sir. Hospital’s policies’ as she walked away. “Is she alright? Please!”.

Every few weeks (or more, if everyone wishes) there will be a prompt (or a task, as they’ll be called) from the main to encourage self-paras, threads, or headcanons. These will have no deadline for posting so new and old members alike can return to these whenever they like and it will always be an optional.

Lethe Task Pilot → Gala Summary

With the gala’s conclusion, the first task will be a gala summary. Tell us about your character’s experience at the gala and what effect is has on them afterwards. If you’re unsure of how to word it, maybe these questions can help you:

Who did they interact with?

Did they enjoy the gala before the wildcards?

How did they handle themselves when it became chaotic?

For people who aren’t done with their threads yet, feel free to return to this when its completed. If your character attended in an off-screen scenario, you can still use this to show us their feelings and thoughts on the gala.
