For everyone's information. I know Anime is short for Animation. I also know that in the US it is generally used to describe Japanese anime and when anime is mentioned they usually refer to JAPANESE animation. So when someone is comparing something to Anime and it's by some other place than Japan I extrapolate from my knowledge that they are obviously comparing another country (whatever it is esp if close to the art style) to the Japanese ones.
