Firstly, Republicans have historically done similar actions as Al Greene and have never faced censure. Jeffries floated the idea of doing "something" in 2023 when Republicans spoke out during Biden's speech, but they were ultimately given the ground to do so.
Secondly, this just is how politics looks. We have an unrealistic idea of politics being boring, but most other countries are not as boring as we are. There is snide, there is noise, there is resistance. Throughout all of history, no one stood in front of a deathly silent chamber and orated their points without interruption or rebuke. Politics is passionate by nature, so why is it we think this should not be happening. A senator standing up for his voters IS DOING HIS JOB.
And that comes down to the third point: The Democrats are a dead party. Ideologically, Democrats are okay with what Donald Trump and Elon Muskrat are doing to our government.
Because it enriches their donors too.
This is accelerationism. The Democrats were walking the same path we are currently down, only taking things much more slowly as a fractured coalition rather than the zombie army of the Republicans. If it wasn't for senators like AOC and Bernie Sanders, this is exactly where we would have ended up as well.
For all the Democratic voters who have accused the leftists and socialists of accelerationism for criticizing the Democratic establishment, it seems the Democrats proved us right and are far more eager to accelerate the collapse.
But when you have 10 Democrats turning on their own, is that the party you are going to claim as your savior? Are you going to let them come back to power, knowing they will also throw you away if it doesn't suit their financial purposes?
