I haven’t read the book, but I heard it has a lot more detail and explains motivations etc. better than the film. But I didn’t read it because I’m a book snob and it seemed too “popular” lol

Yeah, that's what I assumed it would do. The film seemed so simplistic and superficial in all matters of character/motivation/emotion, imo. LOL "I don't read popular books". I'm generally the same hahaha, except I did eventually give in to a few.

Yet, here I am, 18 years since it's release and still haven't read Harry Potter. LMAO.

ohmywillas, if I could have a top 20, yes for SURE Catelyn Tully would be present. Heck, if I had a top 11 even, lol. But I really had to limit the ASOIAF characters.

OMG, harrystreadaways, I actually had Katniss on this list! But then I was like, even though it's true, if I have to start putting film characters I'm in trouble. Although, in fairness, THG will always be books first, films second. I really, really should have left Katniss on here. And Johanna. *sigh*

YES all those things. I’ve been rejected for working at McDonalds in two different countries over the past year lol. I feel like I should go back in time and change every decision I ever made about education or careers. So much bullshit.

Wow... Just wow. I feel like I need to do the same. I would have done better to actually go into acting like I wanted to when I was 12 lol. I would have been just as unsuccessful haha but with less debt.

I know right! I feel like I’ve wasted so much fucking time and effort for NOTHING. (I mean, I love learning about things I like, so in that way, it wasn’t… but in terms of applicability and use, nope. University is a joke now.) I see people from high school who never bothered with university (or at the most chose college instead) earning more than I do, with WAY less debt. The debt it what is killing me the most, I think. Cos the promise was always, “Don’t worry about the debt you’ll accrue. You’ll start paying it off within 6 months of graduating cos you’ll get a really awesome job with a uni degree.” LOL NOPE. A WHOLE BAG OF NOPE.

I APPLIED TO CLEAN POOP OUT OF ANIMAL CAGES AND DIDN’T EVEN GET A CALL FOR AN INTERVIEW.

Like what kind of world is this? I have an honours arts degree AND an honours science degree and apparently can’t even get a minimum wage job cleaning up animal shit.

The only job I’ve got is unpaid. Which isn’t actually a job. It’s slave labour. So I work as a research assistant for this forestry project (it is pretty hush hush cos it’s an emerging technology with A LOT of industry interest)… for FREE. Yeah, that’ll pay down my massive university debt.

Ahhh…. I just… wow. Need to vent sometimes lol. And it’s ridiculous that I am FAR from unique in my issues. They seem dangerously pervasive. I think interning for no pay should be illegal, tbh. I was an intern once, but I was paid for it. And I look now and see other people interning for free and I’m like, “I worked my fucking ass off as an intern. I can’t imagine NOT being paid for the amount of hard, grunt work I did. That should be illegal.” *sigh* Not cool, world. Not cool.

Yeah, it's not that one unfortunately. It checked all sorts of things, not just passive voice. I thought it was really handy. So of course I didn't bookmark it, lol. (Also, lmao at the 'by zombies' thing! V. handy but not practical for 200 pages of goop. Plus I think sometimes passive voice is okay? And I just wish when it's okay could be made a bit clearer.) But thank you! :)
