If you know me, you know my love for Mountain Dew runs deep, so imagine my surprise when the nice people over there reached out wanting to send me something. While I would’ve been overjoyed with a 12-ounce can, it instead turned out to be this backpack punch-painted by Ushio Shinohara, an artist whose work I’ve admired for a very long time. (Please watch Cutie and the Boxer, Zachary Heinzerling’s Oscar-nominated 2013 doc about Shinohara and his wife and fellow artist Noriko, if you haven’t.) It’s all part of their DEW Time Off (D.T.O.) campaign, encouraging people to dedicate more time to doing what they love.
