Really, y'all? This is getting out of hand.
This war on Facebook the past few days about KY Clerk Kim Davis and her stance against gay marriage is just bananas. The best way a Christian (or whatever religion), or a Republican, or ANYONE for that matter can promote GOOD "FAMILY" VALUES is by leading by example and loving each other despite our differences. Kim Davis clearly isn't qualified to be that kind of martyr. The hypocrisy of someone who has been married and divorced multiple times is just comical when you really think about it. "Let he who is without sin be the first to throw a stone." John 8 : 7. Additionally, we all have a right to religious freedom, but what that means is that we are free from religious persecution, not free to do whatever we want and site our religion. An example for everyone: a Muslim woman getting her driver's license cannot wear her face covering even though technically that is against her religion. But, as this is the law in America if you want to get a driver's license, then you obey they law. So, Kim Davis, if you want to be a clerk of the court, obey the law. It's pretty black and white. If she wants to make a stand (again, so hypocritical considering her own circumstances), then she doesn't need to work for the government. A free market job would be a better place for this. So, she was jailed as a statement. Basically, get your shit together and just do your job. Keep your religion out of the government, right? Hopefully this statement lends itself to some other changes (like no sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants who murder people, for one). I mean, maybe we will be a better America now that she has been made an example. I can think of MANY government officials who have been "willy-nilly-I-do-what-I-want" with the law and, oh how I'd LOVE to see them face some judicial consequences! I don't know. I don't have the answers, I'm just over the "Christian" card, and the "black " card, and the " gay card" of it all. All that does is separate our country. We are America, we need to stand together. I'm honestly hoping for an America SOON that isn't so offended by everything, that understands the value of working hard, and that lives a life that whatever god they pray to would be proud of.
