Sinningia leucotricha. Normally I try to block out containers and greenhouse structures to give a more naturalistic appearance, but this Sinningia is too massive to make that practical. It requires several people to move it. I recently posted a closely cropped picture of this plant but I thought I would get a photograph of the entire plant because Sinningia aficionados will appreciate this remarkable specimen.
Sinningia leucotricha is a gesneriad that grows from an above ground tuber. While one source on the internet said that tubers can reach 12" in diameter, this particular individual is massive and has a tuber about 18" across.
