One of my partners is leaving Seattle to work for Leverage Research and the move date has been repeatedly moved sooner and sooner, which is really difficult for me to deal with (I keep adjusting and thinking “ok, he’s leaving at X date, I can be okay with this, deep breaths...” and then oops the date is actually a month sooner, thanks Leverage :/ )
This is also creating one of those weird things for me where
-I want to be supportive, because he’s certainly got more potential in EA than I do, and he seems to think this is the best place to focus his efforts
BUT
-I was initially skeptical of Leverage (they seem like CFAR but not as credible? so, strictly worse than CFAR?)
-This gives me way more incentive to nitpick things about Leverage that I am skeptical about
--especially given that apparently Geoff Anders works like 13 hour days with rare days off
----which makes me think that said partner is likely to start working that kind of schedule and will rarely if ever talk to me if that happens
This is also leading to the unhealthy coping mechanism of asking my other partner (who has a degree in cognitive psychology) to review connection theory and give me his feedback. His feedback is generally of the “no no no this isn’t how cognitive psych works at ALL” variety
