My friends and whanau have been helping me celebrate my victory over unemployment this weekend. One of the many highlights has been the wonderful gift of chocolate milk given to me by my friend Leanne.
For those of you not as heavily invested in the chocolate milk world as I, this milk is pretty special. They can only produce a small amount at a time, so it is highly sought after. It is also only available in the North Island.
When this milk came out last year, they had to station security guards at the milk fridges in supermarkets to deal with the people waiting for the milk deliveries.
Even a year on, Leanne still had to loiter in the supermarket for over an hour to snag some bottles.
All of this is to say, this is an excellent, hard-won gift. As it turns out it was worth the effort because it is hands down the best chocolate milk I’ve ever tasted.
