Romantic Robbery
A Christmas present for @mickeysjones about our beloved Crime Girlfriends
“You and I make a pretty good team,” Lexi Rory declared from the passenger seat of the getaway van.
“We make an even better couple,” Allegra Snart replied, her eyes focused on the road as she merged into a busy interstate lane. As much as she loved the adrenaline of the chase, sometimes it felt nice to enjoy the drive without constantly being on the lookout for cops.
“Well duh Alli, I never said we didn’t. Where’s the bag, I wanna look at everything we snatched,” Lexi rolled her eyes at her girlfriend’s attitude.
“Same place it always is, secret compartment.”
“I love robbing jewelry stores, everything is so pretty. They make perfect anniversary gifts too, don’t you think?” Lexi asked as she unlocked the hidden space that her dad had built for them.
“Our anniversary isn’t for a few more months dear, there’s plenty of time to swipe things until then,” Allegra mentioned patiently, she was more than used to Lexi’s struggle with dates. ADHD and time travel do not mix very well.
“Can we go to Italy again? Ooh! Alli, look at this bracelet! It sparkles in the moonlight! And it’s blue! Perfect for you,” Lexi exclaimed, having gotten distracted by the shiny objects.
“Can’t right now Lex, I’m driving. But when we get back I promise I’ll look at it. And you can tell me all about how the metal was crafted.”
“Did you get anything red?”
“Yup. Got us a matching set of earrings. They were literally labeled ‘Fire and Ice’.”
“That’s perfect for us!”
“I know. Our dads are going to be so proud.”
“They always are,” Lexi grinned as she continued to look through the rewards of tonight’s job.
“How much time before we’re expected to be back at the ship?” Allegra asked as she turned on the signal to turn off at an exit ramp. Road safety was not a law she liked to break.
“About thirty minutes, why?” Lexi answered after she glanced at the dashboard.
“Thought we deserved a little chill time before we get yelled at for making a big scene again.”
“What did you have in mind?”
“Fast food and listening to you talk about the latest episode of that true crime podcast you discovered last mission.” Allegra shrugged with a grin. She loved listening to Lexi talk about whatever she was hyper fixating on. Even if she didn’t always understand what her girlfriend was explaining, it was always educational.
“I love you!”
“You better, partners in crime-“
“-make partners for life.”
