6 Random Facts About Myself

1. For the literal longest time, for as long as I can fucking remember, I have hated newspaper. The smell, the feel. I hate it all. It’s so fucking gross to me, and I have no fucking clue why I hate it so much.

2. Up until a few months ago, I identified as heterosexual because that’s what I always thought I was, what I was supposed to be, even though I never really experienced sexual attraction to anyone around me, but I had long discussions with a close friend of mine, and they actually helped me realize that I’m an asexual to some degree. Whether I’m straight asexual, gray asexual, or demisexual I don’t really know, but I know I’m somewhere along that spectrum. She also helped me realize that I was demiromantic.

3. I was actually in foster care for a few months when I was about 4 years old. I was lucky enough to bounce between relatives for about a year, but at one point they took my little brother and sister away(and I’m just now at 20 building a relationship with them), and almost separated me from my older sister, who was the only family that ever stayed with my my entire life. It was because of the system that I ended up in Georgia with my aunt and uncle who later adopted me when I was 8.

4. Tying into the previous thing, up until a few months ago I identified as Caucasian, and I know that’s a weird sentence because how do you identify as another race? Well, it’s not like I never knew I was Puerto Rican as a kid because I always did, but I was growing up with really conservative parents, and they wouldn’t let me mark mixed or hispanic on any of my stuff in school, so from 5-17 I was forced to put Caucasian down, and I know it sounds weird when I say forced, but when you’re like 6 and your parents, who aren’t even your parents yet, yell at you for not marking white as your ethnicity, you start marking white as your ethnicity.

5. I have no literal clue what I’m doing with my life. I’m 20 and not a single clue. I thought I wanted to be a vet all my life, but I decided against it when I was like 17. Then I wanted to be a photographer(which I still kind of do), an elementary school teacher(which I would still like to do), a bartender, a daycare owner, a professional cosplayer(WHICH I REALLY STILL WANNA DO), but right now I’m focusing on trying to become a freelance writer for music magazines and maybe becoming a music journalist because music helped me through my depression and through my suicidal and self-harm days.

6. I have been in love with anime my entire life. Seriously. I started watching Pokemon in 1999, I grew up watching Dragonball Z and Yu Yu Hakusho and InuYasha and Naruto, my absolute favorite movie as a kid was Kiki’s Delivery Service. Like I’ve always been weeb trash. Always.
