Helene, curious as to what made her wife (wife!!!) call her, quietly pads out of the spare bedroom turned study in her silk robe half tied, and sees the redhead looking both irritated and panicked at the--

Her mouth splits into a shit-eating grin, and María immediately redirects her glare at her, warning her against any clownery.

Helene, nothing but A certified clown™, especially when it concerns her beloved, opens her mouth and says:

'I am going to physically hurt you.' the redhead mouths, and Helene waggles her eyebrows suggestively while biting her lip.

Helene runs a hand against her wife's red curls, lolling her head back against the pillows behind her.

Helene wakes up with her heart on her throat, panicked.

'Why hasn't Maia cried?' is the first thing that comes to her mind as she looks at the clock reading 3:35 am. 'Fuck. I fell asleep.' is the next thing, and she moves out of bed, instinctively to go to the bedroom turned nursery.

Quickly but quietly running walking, Helene arrives to the doors to the nursery. They're already ajar, and her heart leaps to her throat once more.

Stepping into the space where only the full moon illuminates through the wide windows, she's greeted by an unexpected sight. Her wife, sitting on the rocking chair, face guardedly pensive as she holds their 2-month-old daughter. Maia is sound asleep, her little face pressed into the side of the redhead's chest.

María's hazel eyes snap right into hers.

Helene is suddenly filled with a deep well of love.
