Random question, but since Roland and this blog has such a distinct writing style -- is it hard for you to write any other way (if you write other fictional works)? Do you ever find yourself falling into how you write for Roland at times? I'm just curious, haha.

it can def be tricky when i want to write any other fic in a "modern" style of verse (i.e. x-reader fanfics) but ive been seeing it as a kind of metaphor in the same way when a folk needs to eat something healthy that tastes/is textured rancid.

will this help me in the long run? totally, leaps and bounds. is it presently difficult to assimilate this so quickly? unbelievably. but a lot of it comes from habit after so many years of hardcore, college-parallel studying of shakespeare's and any medieval texts i can find, whilst similarly juggling between a few styles of writing, and since most of the prose i go through for roland or for situational descriptions is based on "this word sounds neat and weird, will it work in context??"

a thesaurus/thesaurus.com is entirely your friend & wants u to succeed when it comes to these weird situations, and i never understood why so many "tips" for writing lean hard away from it
