The best view from the hike today. Can’t beat that subtle rainbow of colors. I’m having a great time in Norway with Team Vann— they are so much fun and up for anything! :) We are listening to presentations and dinner is almost ready. Tonight I’m making curried vegetables, sausages, and vegetarian stuffed peppers. Maybe even a little tomato soup for everyone! Cooking for 19 of us is actually fun, believe it or not! Norway! Today I met an older gentleman named Danielo, from Italy. He was a chef at a restaurant on the edge of the Hardangerfjord in Norheimsund. He told us he was the best chef in Norway and sold us on a dish called Seafood Surprise. He brought out a big dish of fettuccine with butter sauce and mussels and shrimp. And when we were done, he brought us a little bread. And as we finished it, and thought we were done, he brought out the “surprise”— a bucket of at least 50 more mussels and 50 more shrimp in a huge bucket. And then he took our forks away, and threw us two crumpled napkins and laughed and ran away. Then I wrote him a 5 star review on TripAdvisor. It was the best surprise. .
