Part 2: I’ve played around with maybe doing a couple of short stories on my website, like perhaps a short novella on what happened to Jo the year between the first book, The Veiled Threat, and the second book, The Veiled Descendants. But for now, it’s just the nine books that are thoroughly planned, and chapter mapped out. The three trilogies completed her story; many of my friends told me well that it seems like a lot to put on yourself for your first series. Maybe you should reign it back. But the problem is that all nine books are needed to tell Shea’s story and who she is, and the trials she encounters and those of her loved ones. Nereid has a story to be recognized as well, a considerable part of the second series is about Prince Caen, and how he’s passed over for the Arethusian throne because he’s a boy, even though he’s the oldest which is quite a switch considering real history. But that’s something he either has to come to terms with or change at the risk of his country believing he’s another Prince Mariner. And Captain Paetre wasn’t always the wise sage Shea remembers. He wasn’t very old when he died. He was her age in the first book, 23, when he found her at age 8 in the slave ports of Lycos, and after twelve years raising her, that’s 35. His rise to his captaincy, his friendship with Caen, there’s a lot there that made him the man who raised such a mighty elven pirate, leader, and woman. #theveiledthreattour #theveiledduchessseries #lgbtqfantasybooks #theworldofnereid #authorsophiamenesini (at Downtown Martinez, Martinez) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5DpiKSgdx6/?igshid=1upya7kzw8m80
