i just wanted to make a post to discuss the topic going around in the simming community. when i was 12, my best friend told me she loved me, and i had never thought of love at the time, and growing up in a small town with no diversity or anyone other than “the norm” i hadn’t even known you could love another woman. i pushed her away, for months. every day without her was like being stabbed in the chest, and i didn’t know why. sooner or later i turned to different films, or tv shows, to find girls who were in love with girls. after watching everything i could find over and over, nothing made sense to me other than loving a woman. i realized the reason losing her hurt wasn’t just because of her being my best friend but because i loved her too. we ended up dating for three years, and eventually broke up. that aside, i realized i was a lesbian when i was 12, and i came out when i was 14, and being a lesbian hasn’t been the most interesting part of myself but it is my favorite part. i love who i am, a lesbian woman.
