so, instead of doing anything worthwhile like replies, i was messing with my header template that i use for indy and nari’s solos, and i was like...hey, this is fun, maybe other people in lgc might want to mess with it too!
so i uploaded the psd for my solo headers here. feel free to do anything you want with it! (standard ‘please just don’t say you made it all yourself’ caveat)
i mentioned being willing to just make some of these for people too if they want, and that offer still stands. the psd probably isn’t very intuitive and might be hard for people that don’t have a lot of experience with ps to navigate, so please let me know if you have any questions about it or would rather have me make one for you instead 💓 u can honestly just reply to this if you want me to make you one, even. or im me, or message me on twitter, whatever!
i’ll put some extra tips on how to customize it to suit your muses under the cut.
first of all, you should totally change the background image to suit your muse. i use unsplash and pixabay for all of mine, and for any moodboard-type images. everything there is 100% free to use and not copyrighted, so you don’t have to worry about making any content creators angry HAHA
second, change up the fonts! and the colors! you can change the colors of the boxes by going over to the line/shape tool, then double clicking the rectangle layers.
as for the image or gif, the placeholder gif is labeled as “IMG/GIF BELOW THIS” and that’s because you need to make sure whatever image or gif you use has a clipping mask on it so it forms to the circle below it instead of being on top of everything. if you make sure your new image layer is below indy’s, it’ll automatically be a clipping mask, and all you have to do is toggle off visibility on indy’s gif.
if you want to use a gif, it gets a little messier. if you don’t know how to get a gif from one canvas onto another one, you’ll want to select all frames and layers of the gif, convert to video timeline on the little hamburger menu to the top right of the frame timeline, then filter > convert to smart filters. then, you can drag the single layer your gif has become onto the post header template.
after that, you’ll probably have to adjust the video timeline so it doesn’t play your gif and then just a bunch of empty space.
that’s where you’ll want to go to this little thing to the right in this image (not the red line, the gray thing):
and drag it so it’s right up against the purple bar that is your gif you just dragged in. that sets the length of your gif.
now, if any of the text or anything disappears part way through the gif, you’ll want to find its purple bar and drag that so it lasts all the way until the little gray end marker.
NOW, if you save the gif from here, it’s probably going to play pretty fast. so save this for web, then open that file in photoshop. then go down to the frame timeline at the bottom of the screen and select all frames (by using the hamburger menu at the top right of the timline), then go down to the timing (it’ll probably say .03) and i’d recommend changing that to .05. but! you can play around with that as well, just save it after you’re done.
note: if you want to use a gif and can’t make them yourself, pls let me know and i can make you one! tumblr gifmakers get mad if you repost or edit their gifs so it’s better if u just let me do this ASDFSDGSDG i’ll just need you to help me find a video to grab a gif from.
i think that’s everything! and again, just message me if you have any questions and i’ll be super happy to help 💗
