Do you think the governor @gavinnewsom or the mayor @kevinfaulconer have any tattoos? You think they’ve ever come to a tattoo studio? I would like to think they have. Some of their constituents are obviously tattoo artists and tattoo shop owners. I’d say an even bigger portion of their constituents have tattoos. We are a clean, sterile, and professional industry and yet we are still not allowed to reopen. Barber shops are open... hair salons are open... retail stores are open... I’m happy for them, but they don’t have half the training and knowledge that we professional tattooers have when it comes to cross-contamination, disease transmission control, and Bloodborne Pathogens. I understand that you have to open things up in stages but I really feel like we should have been considered among some of the first to reopen due to our understanding of the aforementioned skills. We know what we are doing so just let us get back to work. It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three months away from the shop and the crew. I miss shit talking with @matthewseanmanroe and @ariot666 and all they bring to the shop. I miss my clients and their crazy stories and playing devils advocate to their crazy theories and dawning my tin foil hat, at times, to share my own crazy thoughts on things. I know things will go back, but when? There’s a lot of hurt going on in the world right now and I know not being able to tattoo pales in comparison to the bigger problems this country is facing, but tattooing is my life and livelihood and it keeps me sane and keeps my family fed. Sorry I’ve been out of the social media for a while.
