I've been feeling horribly unprepared for Slakkie's arrival because of everything going on, and not just because of the virus (although it has obviously thrown a huge spanner in the works). I would love to nest and get a space ready for our son, but with the plan still standing for us to travel back to the UK before the birth, and the uncertainty over where we'll be living when we come back to South Africa, it's almost impossible to do so. The closest I've been able to do is put the few things we have for him in a corner of our bedroom - it feels like a start, at least. In addition, until recently we were unable to order baby things online as they weren't deemed essential. I did think of ordering stuff for delivery to my parents in England, until I saw the exchange rate... I'm extremely thankful I've been able to order a couple of bits and bobs now, and I feel one step closer to being prepared. Thank you to @lia.and.reese_maternity for helping this mama feel a little bit like she's getting her shit together ❤ it's been great to support a local business too! It's a hectic, scary time to be becoming a mama, and my heart is with every single woman who is in the same boat as me ❤ • • • #liaandreesematernity #babywrap #amberteethingnecklace #rattle #nursingcover #babyjacobs #pregnancy #slakkie #shoplocal #supportlocal #localislekker (at Fairland, Gauteng, South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_E0xzMFay8/?igshid=6p4yv2l7ila8
