WIP Wednesday - DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love: Liam and Savi AU Chapter 1: Spittin' Game Snippet

"Girl, get your ass up! There's no reason you should be asleep on a Saturday at 8:00pm!" Lauren barks, pulling the covers off Savi. 

"Lauren, I know you better get out of my apartment and let me go back to sleep!" Shrieking through a yawn, Savi snatches the covers back from Lauren. 

"Nah, can't do it. I'm now Dr. Lewis and you will go out and celebrate my dissertation defense. You know the shit I had to go through to get to this point. I need my girls with me!" Lauren pouts, poking out her bottom lip. 

"First, you know that shit doesn't work on me right? In your case, the lip poke would be better reserved for the opposite sex. Second, I know you passed your dissertation! I was there for your defense when you got grilled by Dr. Smith, remember?" Savi lets out a laugh and Lauren playfully picks up a throw pillow and tosses it at Savi's head, causing Savi to bob swiftly to the left to avoid the pillow making contact. 

"As I was saying, third, I'm proud of you but these students have been killing my sleep. This quarter has been beyond ridiculous - if one more student asks a question that they can answer by looking in the - "

"You are doing the most the fuck dot.com right now. I didn't come over here to hear you rant about your students. I came here to get you up, dressed, and out to celebrate me!" 

Rolling her eyes, Savi sits up in bed. "Where are we going anyway? And where's Hana since you mentioned 'your girls'?"

"Hana dropped me off here and went across town to get you your specific ass latte from Espresso Vivace because she is a nicer friend than me and knew you wouldn't get your ass out of bed and functioning without it. And to answer your first question, we are going to Croon."
