I love 1D with all my life. They are the most wonderful people in the world!! So I'm gonna be talking about ships like Larry here. Larry's a bromance, I guess. A cute one.
Honestly, Louis has expressed that Larry irritates him and puts a strain on his friendship with Harry. At first, they were pretty chill about it but later on it started to annoy them. I think that's because of all the hate they (moreover their girlfriends) received. Hating on Eleanor, Danielle or Olivia wilde is just unacceptable unless you know them irl. I wouldn't say I like the girlfriends because I have no personal connection with them whatsoever and they don't impact my life in any way AT ALL. Tay is an exception, but still, 1D impacts me. Louis and Harry impact me. Their girlfriends don't.
Sure there's curiosity about their gfs. I obviously wouldn't say I like them because um I'm jelly. Like who wouldn't be? I'm in love with 1D! So duh! But that doesn't mean I can hate on them.
Now getting back to Larry, I have read fanfics. I've seen random shorts which pop up. They're cute. Very. A a bromance. But I ain't gonna try and interfere and start going "omg can you see the way he wore red 7 monthss ago and the other wore red on tuesday?! Omg soulmates!"
If Larry is real, they are. If they aren't, keep dreaming. Everyone has imaginations, and in MY opinion, Larry sometimes brings out people's talents! Like writing, making edits on youtube, persuasion skills etc!
That's great! But meddling in Louis and Harry's personal lives is a BIG no-no. I guess reading fanfics is great as long as you don't hate on anyone. Writing too! Villainising real people just isn't right. Maybe if you're a fanfic author, mention that it's a work of fiction and unless verified and justified by Louis or Harry or whoever it's about, it isn't true. Mention that no hate will be tolerated. I think that's what makes a good author.
Opinions are fine but hate isn't. I don't love 1D's gfs but I don't hate on them. I would if they personally did something to me, but I don't. Believe what you want but don't force it on someone.
!!!!!!!!!!!The most important thing here is how some parts of the fandom who are anti-larry start hating on the larries. A lot of times I see these posts on tumblr 'Look how harmful larries are'. That sucks. People are only making videos to showcase their belief. Maybe that one video was a bit disrespectful, but that doesn't mean one part of the fandom can just call another part of the fandom 'fake fans'. This is probably a singer's worst nightmare or smth. A divided fanbase.
We fans, whether we believe in ship x, y or z in 1D or ANYWHERE ELSE, do not have the right to call anyone else of our own fandom or any other fandom a fake fan. We do not. That is what makes someone stupid, I think.
Every fan, whether they believe in larry or not, is a fan because we've supported Lou and Haz.
People who send hate are still fans, but hateful behaviour isn't okay. These ppl are fans. They're just more expressive. And maybe mean. But they aren't fake fans.
Ppl believe what they want to and it's none of our business to stop them or change their minds. As much as I love to defend 1D, we aren't their media managers or bodyguards whatever. We're the fans and we stick BY them. Not infront, not behind. Beside them.
Believe what you want. Ship what you want. Just don't let your beliefs become someone else's pain.
At the end of the day, we're all here because One Direction changed our lives. We don't have to agree on every opinion, every ship, or every theory to be part of this fandom. Respect them, respect each other, and remember why we became Directioners in the first place. TPWK BABY (and sometimes the tommo way...balance it well)
So when Louis asks, How Did I Get Here?, maybe the answer is simple: we got here together. Let's make sure we stay together with kindness, respect (tpwk n respect ur mother...and everyone else!!!!!!), and the love that brought us here in the first place.
