why do you want quebec to remain in canada? (just curious)

For starters I’m French Canadian (my mom’s family is at least).

One of the things I love about Canada is that its a mixture of different cultures, influences and history, and Quebec to me is a big part of Canada. I mean there’s a lot of divisive issues between English and French Canada, but there’s a lot to celebrate too.

There’s also technical issues. If Quebec were to separate there would be issues travelling (border crossings would become a lot more difficult), and Atlantic Canada would be cut off from the rest of Canada (which with this regions poor economy could make things even worse).

There’s also the issues of First Nations sovereignty, whose treaties were signed with Canada, not Quebec. And First Nations in Canada claim sovereignty over a huge portion of Quebec. This article goes over a bit of why this is a big issue:

excuse me but where is the problem in calling for Israel to be prosecuted for war crimes?

There isn’t.

Unless you’re the Liberal Party of Canada or the Conservative Party of Canada. Who take offence to such statements (despite the very real truth that Israel has done this).

? I barely learned any american history in school. I mean, they showed us where the thirteen colonies where and when, but not much else... maybe is it because I'm in québec

I learned about some basics of the beginning of the USA (early history), but more heavily focused on US history from the 1920′s until the Cold war.
