So a man with a history of violence and mental illness including trying to choke his own elderly mother and calling in threats to schools, got himself an armored van, rigged it with booby traps, and loaded it full of pipe bombs, and launched an attack on Dallas Police Headquarters. It seems he lost custody of his son (I wonder why?) and was expressing his rage at the police. Amazingly it ended with no innocent people being injured, and a police sniper neutralizing the attacker through the windshield of the van. His father was apparently aware the man’s rage, and where he intended to direct it, “He blamed them for taking his son. I tried to tell him the police didn't do it, the police were doing their job to enforce the laws. If you want to get to that you got to get to the liberal people who put these laws in place.” he said in a statement I furiously dictated from the NPR website to prove to myself that I actually heard it. So he wasn’t so much in disagreement with his son’s calculated violent terror plot as he was disappointed that he aimed it at police instead of---who exactly? The “liberal” lawmakers in Texas that wrote laws allowing the State to remove custody of children from violent maniacs?
