So I was thinking...
There have been discussions about the magic not choosing a new Night Lord while Rhys was dead for that period of time... but what if there's a reason for that?
There is a kernel of High Lord Magic in a certain vessel from each current High Lord. There have been no exchanges of High Lordship since. Even when one of them did die for a time. The magic can't have known he'd come back. Unless it did, idk, I didn't write the books. 🤣
So what if, when Eris kills Beron, the magic doesn't transfer. Beron just... remains in stasis, locked to this one tether of power that remains. What if the Autumn Court is left undefended by a reigning High Lord. Because the magic is still holding on to that one tether.
Feyre's tether.
Also, if this was the case, would that make all the current High Lords technically liches now? Is Feyre a fancy little phylactery?
