I’ve gained new followers as well, though- honestly I still feel lonely. I’ve only had one person who stayed actively chatted with me. Is that weird? I mean I know it’s the Internet. *sigh* but still-
No no, I totally get it! I can relate to this quite a bit. Since my late teens/early 20s, most of my closest friends have been online, since Asperger’s and OCPD make it difficult for me to build and maintain IRL relationships. But finding good friends online can be hard, too. I usually only manage to have one very close friend at a time, maybe two, whom I talk to consistently — and sometimes a few more people who are just bleeps on my radar, such as tumblr friends that I don’t really know very well.*
Currently, my two consistently-talk-to online friends are vater-orlag and spitting-up-fake-blood, but even them I don’t get to see/talk to every day. It can get pretty lonely, especially when you crave a little meaningful interaction and that one person who can usually give it to you just isn’t online right now…
I don’t have any useful advice about this, since I haven’t really figured out how to deal with the problem myself yet. But for the record: please know that I’m always available to talk — especially if you want to discuss silly fandom things. I might not always get a chance to see/respond to every single one of your posts, but feel free to inbox me any time. <3
* Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate ALL OF YOU, even those who just follow and never speak. But if we don’t really talk/hardly know each other, then it’s not exactly the same as a close friendship.
