“Me? Books and cleverness. There are more important things: friendship and bravery. ”
Independent & Semi- Selective Hermione Granger - penned by Ren
@malfoyistic - Exchange of Winds.
The fading spring winds blew about the castle, the great hall was being filled as students and professors entered for dinner. Hermione slips inside silently and took her place besides Harry and Ron, “Where the blimey have you been?” Harry whispers, worryingly. “For your information I was assisting Professor Mcgonagall.” She counters, her head was filled with thoughts as her gaze flicks between the two. Harry only responds with a simple okay. Their gaze flick to the headmaster at the podium. Dumbledore offers them all a welcoming smile as he looks to all of his students. “Attention, attention everyone.” He calls out to everyone, silence washes over the great hall. “As you all know the summer is in the winds, I know many are eager to go off and spend it joyfully. But I have noticed there are many rivalries as there are friendship within the walls. But I think Judgments prevent us from seeing the good that lies beyond appearances. ” He explains as his gaze locks on Harry, Ron, Hermione then to Draco and his friends. Hermione’s gaze instantly twisted towards the blond resided when Dumbledore had glanced in his direction. If there had ever been any trust in the boy prior to the end of this year, it was certainly broken now when he Dolores’ Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad and then held her, Harry, Ron, Neville and Luna all in that wretched woman’s office. This year had been a turning point for rivalries and friendships.
Why did she ever think he could change of all people. “Now, after everything that has occurred this past year. I Albus Dumbledore, have discussed a project with the other professors, we have unanimously decided to put it into place. It’s an exchange project. However, it’s fifth years only..” He explains to the students now murmuring under their breaths, Dumbledore motions Mcgonagall to come over with the sorting hat and chair. Hermione’s brows knit together in confusion and intrigue. An exchange project? Dumbledore then clears his throat and part his lips to further his speech, “Every fifth year will be paired up with another student from a different house and is to stay with them for the summer. For instance let me use an example. The sorting hat pairs me with Professor Snape, I’d spent two months with him in his home and learn about the way he lives. We would learn about another. Then come the third month he’d stay with me and vis versa.The project is all about diversity, and acceptance.” He explains further with a smile, “Alright. Let us begin.” Soon students were being called to the sorting hat “What kind of project is this?” Harry groans rubbing his temporal lobes, Hermione’s heart however was racing and her mind was swirling around on who she’d be paired up with. Those amber eyes of hers starting to shift towards the Sytherin table, yet Harry’s words forces her attention back to her group.
“Anyone is better than Malfoy.” He had said, she blinks a few times as she bites her lower lip. The idea of spending the summer with Malfoy, away from criticizing eyes beside his parents. Would her assumptions about him be right? She shudders at the thought. A mudblood vs pureblood, she looks down to her hands with an array of emotions swirling around in her eyes. But, she knew they would be coming from two completely worlds, it would be interesting to share their lives with one another outside of school. A small smirk creased to Hermione’s lips as she wondered if Draco himself ever had to do anything himself outside of school? If he had not, and he was paired with her he was in for a rude awakening. Harry, finally noticed Hermione was staring Draco’s direction and he looks to her perplexed but he didn’t say anything yet. “Hermione.” he breathes, Hermione simply ignores his whispering name as she continued to stare in Draco’s direction. At least he had not noticed her staring, yet....
"Why do you have to act like such a bitch?" She huffs at him. ( you can make this a thread or not love me )
The question had him rise a brow, in his opinion, the most dramatic thing he’d done all day. “Is the kettle calling the pot?” his voice was flat, indicating that he wasn’t amused at all by the girl’s small outburst. He had no clue what he’d done that could possibly offend her to the point of calling him a bitch. Morally, the only person allowed to call him that was Corban and he was not here. “You’d do well to remember whom you’re speaking to,” he warned her and gave her a leveled cool look, didn’t even bother to pull himself to his full height, he still loomed above her anyway.

Studies were hell. It was the toughest time for the student known as Alastor. Oh he was extremely talented in the subjects that mattered to him. It was the ones that bored him that were hell. Still.. his professors had reminded him that if he truly wanted to become an auror, he’d have to do exceptionally well. And his mind was hyper focused on it. This was how he had found himself with special permission to stay in the library after hours. He needed to pass this bloody Divination test. Stupid fucking subject, in his opinion. But still.. it was needed. When he heard the sound of someone else entering, he was curious, snatching up his wand. He was the only one allowed after hours... as far as he knew.
“What are you doing?”
“I don’t think it’s any of your business,” he said as he glanced up from the notebook he was writing in. He wasn’t worried about her seeing it, it wasn’t in English anyway but he didn’t like people snooping. It was bad enough that he had to invite her into his home, she didn’t need to know everything he did. “Get out of my study, Granger.” his tone was sharp but his eyes were back at the page that he continued to fill with his results.

"Professor. I have to ask you a rather important question."
LUPIN GLANCED UP . he wasn’t expecting any visitors to his office today . but the company was not unwanted or unappreciated . his eyes flickered over the young witch as she approached the desk , closing the large wooden door behind her . “ of course . ” he said , switching his quill to his other hand && setting it down to one side . a smile across his tired face . “ take a seat hermione . what’s bothering you ? ”
@licnbright --“ where did you learn that? ”
The brunette pauses as she lowers her wand and the book she had in her free hand, she offers him a smile as she holds up the book and hands it to him. “I learned it from this book, you’re welcome to borrow it if you’d like.”
“You’re that abroad student, aren’t you?“
Fingers took the book carefully and he held it in the crook of his arm as he already got to trying to read the page. Reading English was harder for him than speaking and even with that he wasn’t fluent. He tapped his middle finger at the top of the page and with a light shake of the paper, the words morphed into Arabic. A spell he was taught for the purpose of his study abroad but not to be overused for obvious reasons of language emersion. It was a beautiful charm she’d been practicing, Dany couldn’t help but gain interest. He’d been sorted into Ravenclaw for the year after all.
“Yes. I go to Uagadou,” he replied a bit distracted, eager as always to learn a new bit of magic. He smiled apologetically as he looked back up. “Forgive me. I am Danyal -- Salama. Different houses. We use surnames, yes?” He wasn’t sure if that was a strict rule or not but he’d noticed it in classes.
