So, how would you describe Lico? Because the impression from twitter I've gotten is is that he's the third protag of DRK.
I get that vibe. The book has gone to awful lengths to work him into the story even just in Chapter 1, and I need to see if he continues on in the series past this volume. Whether he does or doesn’t will affect how I think about him in regards to the series.
Here’s Samidare’s key facts regarding Lico so far:
has a sweet, natural aroma that makes her feel nostalgic
at a glance looks as if Samidare’s seen him somewhere before, like as a cherub or forest sprite in some European painting
as such, she thinks of him at first as the “library fairy”
he’s a little shorter than Kirigiri
Samidare can’t pinpoint his age, but knows that he’s young
Samidare also says that his appearance is so androgynous that you can’t tell his gender at a glance
he’s got a delicate, slender frame
he has translucent skin and long eyelashes (told you! hella matsuge!)
he has slightly long hair and strange, bluish eyes
he leads her through the detective library by melting into the shadows and reappearing further ahead
Lico doesn’t open his mouth until after Samidare chooses the black Duel Noir envelope the second time in Ryuuzouji’s office
he uses “boku” as his personal pronoun and speaks pretty politely
when Samidare jokes that she thought he was like an automaton, he grabs her hand and presses it to his chest to feel his heartbeat
while some of his actions befit a child, his manner is at the same time very mature
Samidare thinks he’s extremely mysterious
He’s certainly mysterious, not to mention a bit suspicious as well. He isn’t the kind of Ryuuzouji super fan the other kids on the Neverland Ranch are, but he does say that he’s very much on Ryuuzouji’s side. He seems like he’s got a bit of a mischievous side too, but that’s more a hunch on my part.
Interested to see where his character goes, that’s for sure.
