Delicious/I’m intrigued!: I love this ship so much, it can be so chaotic and messy, yet so so sweet and passionate and good. Kinda my otp tbh.
I’m picky about it: While I wouldn’t say I’m extremely picky on it, I definitely wouldn’t say that every interpretation of Oumota is a favorite. I especially don’t like toxic romantic relationships while they are dating (Messy as they try to figure things out? Yes, but also when they’re dating I expect this to be far less often.) I don’t particularly like abusive takes on my otps either.
I read fic/I would read fic: While I am picky about how the relationship is portrayed, I also loooove reading Oumota fic! I also write it. Where’ i the “I write fic” option?! But also the “I would read” option is highlighted because I mostly write fics, not really... read them dnjksdnsjak
Romantic/Sexual: Honestly these two kind of go together because I personally HC that once they both get over their awkwardness and guarded walls, the romance (and sex) would just. Skyrocket. Kaito is always very thirsty for his partners, fun fact, so if his partner is into it then he is 200% more into it. Games of chase end in Kaito pinning Kokichi to the bed and kissing him silly. They are very into each other and not at all shameless. This also does depend on the interpretations of Kaito and Kokichi of course, like--I wouldn’t want to see Kaito being nothing but a horndog while Kokichi is very sex repulsed. Boundaries are important!
Platonic/QPlatonic: This is more for rping than reading fics if I’m to be honest. Sometimes, two muses are just better as friends than as lovers, and that’s okay! It just depends. Personally I really only read ship fics that are romantic for these two/my otps. though qPlatonic can be a weird grey area that can mean a whole lot of things. Still!
Softly/Best Friends: If Kaito and Kokichi (or any relationship I ship actually) aren’t close friends while in a romantic relationship, then it doesn’t feel as realistic or at least as fulfilling. You should be close/best friends with your partner! Then again I’m aroace so what do I know xD. Either way, Kaito and Kokichi slowly letting their walls down, both trying to improve themselves and support each other as partners, both laughing and playing games they mutually enjoy... who wouldn’t love this kind of thing tbh? There’s something so good about seeing two best friends be soft and in love, even when it’s not spoken directly.
Soulmates-Soulmates Adjacent/Childhood sweethearts: There’s something really sweet about a first love lasting, and I think while it’s unrealistic, it’s just. Super romantic and sweet to grow up together and grow old together as well. Soulmates are similar, since you can have so many different kinds of soulmate AUs where they know who their soulmates are from the get go. There’s something fun about “the one and only” that I like to play around with and turn on its head a lot too, so there’s that xD
OTP: uh do you really need me to elaborate further because I think I explained a lot as to why I love this ship dnajdnjdsdknajksdas it really is my OTP, if I had to choose one. I’m so weak to rivals to lovers okay???? Okay.
