This is my first post in a while, sorry about that! Between internship, thesis and the amount of house work I have to do in the weekends, I couldn’t find time. Internship is fine, not bad not good I would say. I have been sitting for the majority of the time because they literally have no idea what work to give me and I have been asking non stop what I can do for them... I am fine with it but I’m just a little nervous about what I am going to write in my internship report. Also let me just say I hate to work as an intern because you don’t really know what you are allowed to do or not, there is no clear definition of the work you should be doing and you are not really part of the group and so on. 6 more weeks to go then 11 days in İstanbul. God, how I miss that city!

Had a lecture between until 12.00 (Yes, I check tumblr on my breaks). I was supposed to go to the city hall but I didn’t have time. Now, I am back at home to do some homework and I will head out to a meeting for one of my group projects. I am so stressed out, all of my deadlines are next week and I feel like I won’t be able to finish everything! Trying to take one day at a time but all of this stress demotivates me and I don’t like it…

Öğlen 12′ye kadar dersim vardı. Aslında belediyeye gitmem gerekiyordu ama çalışma saatlerine yetişemedim. Şimdi, evdeyim biraz ders çalışıp proje gruplarımdan biriyle buluşmaya gideceğim. Çıkmaz ayın son çarşambası şeklinde bütün proje teslimlerim önümüzdeki hafta ve ben yetiştirebilecek miyim diye stres yapıyorum.Stres yaptıkça çalışasım da gelmiyor, nefret ediyorum bu ruh halimden!

Well, this could be my kind of before and after. One yogurt and 30 minutes later I completed another chapter! Yay me!

Rainy day in Belgium, 3 days to my final. Went for a little walk and came back to continue working on Web and Text Analytics. It’s still fun :D 

Bu da benim önceki sonraki tarzım olabilir. Bir yoğurt ve 30 dakika sonra, bir bölüm daha tamamlamış oldum.

Bugün Belçika’da hava yağmurlu ve finalime 3 gün var. Kısa bir yürüyüş yapıp, çalışmak için geri döndüm. Hala çalışması eğlenceli bir ders :D

Hi everyone! Let me start by saying, I will be back for good next week with posts from my study sessions. This is the last week of my internship and I will be fully focusing on my thesis from now on. As much as my internship sucked in the first couple of weeks, I am so happy with the internship I did in the end! I loved what I worked on for the company and I will be applying for a position there. Let’s hope I get it! 

My boyfriend got an offer from one of the biggest optimization companies in Belgium. So he will be staying here and working. I am so damn excited for him. I am also thinking about staying here rather than going back to Turkey. It has been a tough decision for me but I feel like staying will be the best option for me. Turkey is so unstable with the political and economical situation there. So wish me luck in finding a job here in Belgium. I am lacking the confidence when it comes to looking for jobs because I feel like I am not enough but I need to leave this state of mind. 

And yes, that is my face :D That photo is from the night my boyfriend got the offer and we went out to celebrate. Been a while since I did my makeup and stepped out, so I will leave it there as a reminder.

Still sick but I am feeling much better. Decided to leave the house and work on my thesis at my local Exki.

Hala hastayım ama daha iyi hissediyorum. Evden çıkıp dışarıda çalışmaya karar verdim.

For the past two weeks I feel like time is just passing without me realizing it. I had 3 report deadlines on Monday and one for Tuesday so I have been taking it slow this week. And yes I have my Christmas tree up just because it makes me happy between all of this chaos. Did some studying but nothing intensive. Now off to French course!

İki haftadır zamanın nasıl geçtiğini gerçekten anlamıyorum. Pazartesi günü 3 tane rapor teslimim vardı ve salı gününe bir proje. O yüzden bu haftayı daha yavaş geçiriyorum, daha çok dinlenerek. Ve evet yılbaşı ağacımı kurdum çünkü bütün bu kaosun içinde ufak bir mutluluk sebebi. Bugün biraz çalıştım ama çok değil. Şimdi Fransızca dersi beni bekler!

Ok, I am terrible at keeping this tumblr active while I am working... But please give me credit I travel 4 hours in total every day! I have 19 work days to go so not much. I am working from home today like I did on Friday too. My company allows us to work from home and I am still not fully used to it! I feel like I am skipping work even though I am working, and I feel like everyone at the office thinks I am lazy and so on... Well, that is my toxic brain and of course the remnants of the work culture in Turkey. 

I also finished 3 books in 3 weeks and just ordered 2 more. I have missed reading like this and it makes me so happy to be back. The only reason I don’t read much faster is to ensure I don’t finish each book in 4 hours :D 

I would love to write reviews of the books I have read through out this internship, let’s see if I ever do that :D

One of my professors from Turkey was here for a doctoral defense (jury duty) so I got to attend the defense and have a little chat with her. She is more like my mentor/sister at this point and I am grateful for her. Doctoral thesis presented and the ceremony was just amazing. Many tears were shed. Later I completed my French homework for tomorrow. I like this language but it’s very difficult to learn.

Bugün Türkiye’deki hocalarımdan biri Belçika’daydı. Bir doktora öğrencisinin savunma jürisine katılmak için buradaydı. Hayatımı sonsuza kadar değiştirdi o yüzden o kadar minnettarım ki ona. Ayrıca doktora öğrencisinin sunumu ve doktorayı aldığı tören gerçekten büyüleyiciydi. Eve döndüğümde de yarın için olan fransızca ödevimi tamamladım. Dil çok güzel ama öğrenmesi tam bir bela...
