August Days of Productivity: Week One
It was a good first week back. We got a bug on the plane, but I've still been able to work a fair amount.

🐛 August Days of Productivity 🐛
I'm back from a much-needed trip, and I’m ready to tackle my goals for the last month of summer!
Goals:
Complete my bibliography and send it off for review
Finish reviewing human osteology (manifesting that teaching position so hard)
Micro-Goals:
🦷: 50+ sources on topic 1
🦴: 50+ sources on topic 2
🌟: 50+ sources on topic 3
📖: Complete Anki deck to make future reviews easier on myself
I'll be posting every Friday to summarize my progress, and I plan on occasionally continuing to post my "100 days of productivity" on days that are particularly productive.
Computer, how do I pick a Master's thesis topic
Where are my fellow 20+ studyblrs? I’m 26, going into the second year of my masters degree and need more blogs to follow 💚
Or I have a TikTok where I post study stuff too!

Today, I was supposed to go to a family event at my grandmother's house, but I woke up and took my medication and felt too weak to drive. I felt bad, but I slept it off and I'm glad I stayed home. My mom was like, "I could have driven you!" But I didn't want to go anywhere, I just wanted to rest.
Anyways, I think I landed on what I want my capstone project to be for my masters-- my thesis, basically. I really want to explore the connections between women and magic through Agrippa's works. Right around the time he first wrote the Three Books of Occult Philosophy he also wrote a much more obscure oration on women. More specifically, he wrote about how women were equal to if not better than men, which is a super interesting take from a Renaissance magician. Some scholars think he was sucking up to his patroness, others that he was being satirical, and yet others who think it could be considered a serious proto feminist work. I'm just really interested in drawing connections between Agrippa's magical philosophy and his views on women. I think it would fit really well with my general research direction of the relationship between women and magic during the early modern period.
Anyways, that's all I'm up to for now. Just research and also prepping for the fall semester. My orientation is this month, so I'm super excited for that. I've had a lot of family related stress, so grad school stuff has actually been my chance to unwind and focus on something else other than my family problems. My cats were happy I was home this weekend and spent it sitting right where I needed to put things or work. I guess I can't really complain though-- they just love me HAHA!
