Hello I raise you guys uu jadenbuflame cause a friend of mine is having a silly idea and I am always here to spread propaganda. (notice also. Yeah this flame is a masc af woman. Love my friends silly idea bout that. Bad bitches deserve a beard too if they want it :3)

Ok, this one starts with flame accidentally killing lomedy and having to realise his faults in the worst way possible but also he later reunites with jadenbu and after earning their trust back they all end up in a silly little triangle

Soo, since peeps were actually intrested, I did indeed make a freaky discord server. For now I prefer to personally invite folks (or have people on the server invite their friends, that's cool aswell), so if anyone wants to be added just answer this post or dm me and I'll add you. No need to be shy either, I don't bite, neither do the others. This is an 18+ server, I have the help of some moots and friends (thank you guys <3) and is just meant to be a freaky funspace to chill and connect. So yayy the server is up, hope it'll be a fun experience for everyone. :3

do you have any tips for drawing human bodies and proportions better? or how to lean color theory? I'm trying to learn drawing better but it's hard.

Ohhhi spectrum! And sure I do. I will try to keep this, relatively short? But like. Here goes my pigeon brain, you just activated the neuron. I'll start at basics for bodies cause 1) it's useful for anyone and 2) I don't know your art, I think, so idk your level and where you are stuck. :3

So 1) volume.

characters have to comunicate 3D volumes cause else they fall flat. For the body I therefore like to use bendy sqares and trapezoids for the 3 parts that lead the body weight the most, head chest and hips.

I like to break the head down hinda like a rounded rectangle. And in general prefer to use rounded volumes now because I have a relatively ddecent grast on 3d forms. but I recoment starting with more blocky 3D shapes. will they look a little stiff. yes but you are teaching your brain the 3D space on a 2d canvas. you Can adapt to rounder shapes after you are comfy with how your 3D boxes work. When you are hapy with how they look. do the disney pillow ause that's how I got to my softened shapes.

they are great to teach your brain volume cause it is essentially a stylized torso. In general I will say. think of the shoulders as eyebrows of the torso. unless you wanna communicate stiffness they most likely aren't stiff and more like this pillow. :3

I will also recommend pose library. They have a huege library of fotos to reference or trace from. Cause yes tracing as training is good just don't post traced stuff and claim it as yours. Esspecially if you wanna break down and simplify the human form tracing on 50% opacity fotos is great (if you aren't digital, change the printing opacity :3)

I recommend doing it in the process of warming up. Pick a pose, trace it and break it down. And then, hide that layer and try draing the pose next to the pose without chasing. It'll help your brain to apply the learned volumes and details by forsing it to really pay attention. :3 I will also say time yourself to a max of 10 minutes per pose. You wanna learn but you shouldn't hyperfixate on one detail.

For arms and legs they are mostly tubes. I found however, skething them a little like cartoon lighting strikes helps me with remembering the muscles and how they wrap around the bones forming the arm. I use it esspecially for quick pose sketches.

Hands usually start as mittens in my roughs. I then go back and essentially put them in (when in doubt one finger out. makes the hand look more lively where needed. Feet are kinda bendy triagles. but I would recommend splitting the form kinda, so you can imagen where the bends are easier.

I hope that helps with how to draw the body. If you want more detail for that feel free to pelt it towards me. X3 But for now color. Colors are tricky. I usually start at greyscale to get my values right, and then add color in an overlay layer before just adding straight colors.

Cause almost all colors can work if their values work together. An easy trick is also to unify your pallet. You want a warm soft peace? pick your colors and then add a tinge of reddish pink on top with an overlay and blur it. it gives all the colors a closeness to the reddish pink.

In general think of the leading color for your piece, the leading color will give a mood/emotion and also be most likely a bit more saturated than the others, at least. Also color contrast is, next to value contrast, another way of leading the viewers eye into a piece. So you wanna choose the colors and saturation in a way to highlight your characters.

I can also recommend james gurneys color and light for the whole topic, the book helped a bunch :3 Uhm Ok. I think that's like, a good base on tipps? As said feel free to ask more specific things. But I think that's a long enough yap xD
